Changing our negative thoughts, and how powerful this can be

...See more Since starting this path, I’ve been paying much more attention to the way my thoughts affect my emotions and daily life. I didn’t fully realize before how often negative thoughts can appear automatically and influence the way I see myself, my abilities, and even my future. Sometimes these thoughts are so normal and repetitive that I don’t even notice them at first, but they can slowly affect my mood, motivation, and confidence. One thing I’ve especially noticed is how easy it is to become overly critical of myself. I sometimes catch myself thinking things like “I’m behind,” “I’m not doing enough,” or “I should be doing better.” When I stay in that mindset for too long, I start feeling more stressed, discouraged, and less productive. It becomes harder to focus on what I actually am accomplishing because my attention stays on what I think I’m lacking. Recently, I’ve been trying to become more aware of these thoughts instead of automatically believing them. I’ve started practicing reframing them into something more balanced and compassionate. For example, instead of thinking “I’m failing,” I try to remind myself that growth takes time and that struggling doesn’t mean I’m incapable. Surprisingly, this small shift in thinking has helped me feel calmer and more motivated instead of stuck in self-criticism. I’m realizing that positive thinking is not about pretending everything is perfect, but about learning to speak to ourselves in a healthier and more realistic way. It’s still something I’m working on, but I think becoming aware of our thoughts is already an important first step. I’d love to hear other people’s experiences and perspectives: What’s a negative thought you catch yourself having often? Have you ever tried to challenge or reframe it? How did that feel? Do you think our thoughts have a bigger impact on our lives than we sometimes realize?

Confidence and small steps

...See more Lately I’ve been reflecting a lot on confidence and how it develops over time. I used to think confidence was something people either naturally had or didn’t have. When I saw confident people, I assumed they simply felt ready, certain, and comfortable before taking action. But recently, I’ve started to realize that confidence often grows through experience rather than appearing first. There have been many moments where I hesitated to do something because I didn’t feel fully prepared. Sometimes I avoid speaking up, starting something new, or putting myself out there because I worry about failing or not being good enough. The more I waited to feel “ready,” the more stuck I felt. Over time, I noticed that taking small steps, even while feeling uncertain, helped me more than waiting for confidence to magically appear. I also think self-kindness plays a huge role in confidence. When I’m overly critical of myself, every mistake feels bigger and it becomes harder to try again. But when I’m more patient and understanding with myself, challenges feel less intimidating. I’ve realized that confidence doesn’t always mean feeling fearless. Sometimes it simply means being willing to continue despite doubt. I’m still learning and figuring this out, but I think confidence may be more connected to action and growth than perfection. I’d love to hear different perspectives from others: What does confidence mean to you?  Do you think confidence comes before action, or does it develop after taking action?  Has there been a situation where stepping outside your comfort zone helped build your confidence?

Confidence and small steps

...See more One thing I’ve been reflecting on is confidence, especially how it’s not always something that just appears, but something that builds over time. Sometimes I feel unsure of myself or hesitate to take action because I don’t feel ready yet. But I’ve started to realize that waiting to feel fully confident might actually hold me back more. Taking small steps, even when I don’t feel 100% ready, has helped me a bit more than staying stuck. It also made me think about how being kind to myself plays a role in confidence. When I’m less critical and more patient, things feel a bit easier and more possible. I’m still figuring this out, but I’d love to hear different perspectives. So here are my questions: What does confidence mean to you? and  Do you think confidence comes before action, or after taking action?

Changing negative thoughts!

...See more Since stating this path, I’ve been realizing how much our thoughts affect how we feel day to day, and affect us in life. Sometimes I catch myself thinking negatively without even noticing, and it can really bring my mood down, making me feel worse and less productive. Lately, I’ve been trying to catch myself whenever I have these negative thoughts and flip them into something more balanced and kinder to myself, and it actually helps much more than I expected. So I have some questions for you: What’s a negative thought you catch yourself having often? and  Have you ever tried to challenge or reframe it? How did that feel?

Would You Keep Your Own Problems?
Positivity & Gratitude / by CozyPup1

...See more Hi everyone! I’m new here and wanted to share a thought that recently made me pause and feel really grateful for the things I have in my life. I saw a video where someone said: “If everyone in the world put their problems into a hat, and you could either keep your own problems or randomly pick someone else’s from the hat… which would you choose?” It made me realize that even though we all struggle with things, we also know our own challenges and have learned how to live with them.  What do you think? Would you keep your own problems, or take the chance of picking someone else’s?

...See more Hi everyone! I’m new to the forum and wanted to start a little icebreaker. So here is my question, would you rather: Be able to talk to animals but they constantly complain about humans OR Meet aliens but nobody believes you?
