Burnt Out
Relationship Stress / by jerie

...See more Emotionally Tired My bf and I have been tg for a year and a half and recently we have been going through it. I feel like his mental health is almost too much for me to handle. Whenever it comes to him, it’s always me doing something wrong. It feels like he doesn’t want to know or hear what he’s doing wrong. I have feelings too and I often feel unheard. I feel like I can’t do anything or even talk about anything because somehow it just becomes my fault. I told him that if he’s not ready to hear what he’s doing wrong then he’s just not ready to talk about something maturely. This happens so often and I’m starting to feel less and less validated. I’m just so tired and so burned out emotionally.

Was I wrong?

...See more Was I wrong with how I worded this? “You can’t control every single thing that I do. I can’t bend and twist every single little thing for you. I’m sorry about what has happened to you in the past and I’m sorry how that has impacted you, but I’m doing what I can.” I don’t think my bf realizes how overbearing his emotions and mental health can get. I’m not saying that to discredit any progress or anything he has truly done positively for himself, but he continues to push and press me on things that I was confident in. He has what we call a trigger towards me hanging up on in early in the morning, for me, and the middle of the night, for him. We have a 3 hr time difference. I texted him to let him know that I was leaving early tomorrow morning, and he just decided that we wouldn’t call tonight at all. He decided that because he didn’t want to be triggered. Instead, he called someone else. It’s not meant to sound like he’s going to someone else, but how am I supposed to feel yk? This is a reoccurring thing and it doesn’t seem to change. It often feels like if things don’t go his way, then he has to fix it or just remove me from the situation. I’m trying to be okay with it, because I don’t want him to be triggered, but how am I supposed to be okay with being alone for the night?

Being There
Relationship Stress / by jerie

...See more My partner has a lot of mental health conditions. He often relies on me to help him during panic attacks and etc. we are long distance, so the most that I can provide is company, if I’m lucky. But he relies on me too much. If I can’t be there for him, since we never know when our mental will have a decline, it’s like the world is ending. He often won’t talk to me or he’ll be very dry with me for hours because I wasn’t there for him. I understand that he needed me, but sometimes I’m literally not able to be there and he doesn’t seem to understand. It’s very stressful trying to be there for him when he has so many dos and donts. I feel like I’ve gotten better with being there for him the way he needs me and I’ve noticed my improvement, but he only seems to want to talk about my negative qualities. Long distance is so hard!
