I play lots of music at school, and use it to express my emotions. I play piano, percussion, and marching tenor drums. I like to make crafts as well, mainly pipe cleaner flowers. I play pickleball and do marching band, and I’m in my school’s Wind Ensemble. I like to be included in as many things as I can. I love to eat and sleep, and I’ve been told that I’m empathetic. Overall, I’d like to help people and use this experience to get a good psychology job in the future.

My name is Asher, and I valued empathy and emotional awareness from a young age. Even as a child, I naturally found myself being a comforter by listening to others, offering reassurance, and staying present when someone was struggling. Over time, this habit has grown into a genuine commitment to supporting people with care and intention. During school retreats and community experiences, I often find myself following my teachers and pastors. I spent time talking with others about their stories, challenges, and successes, learning how meaningful it can be simply to listen without judgment. I notice that when people share both their struggles and their joys, I feel a sense of connection by experiencing sorrow with them in difficult moments and happiness with them in moments of growth. I find deep fulfillment in being a listener for others, and I am motivated to join this organization because I believe everyone deserves a safe and supportive space. It would be my passion to contribute my time and care to helping others feel heard, understood, and less alone.
