@savanaah wow, this gave me pause to reflect today- thank you for posting, savanaah. Bearing in mind that there's no one-size-fits-all life advice, here are my thoughts:

1. It takes the pressure off when you realise that nobody has it all sorted and that everyone's life path is different and unfolds in its own time, often in very unforeseen ways

2. I wish someone had told me how turbulent it would be, how many life changes to expect. This was before I'd heard of mindfulness or things like ACT - being able to draw on those resources would have been an asset in terms of acceptance and gaining clarity.

3. If you're feeling disconnected seek out new people who get who you are now, whether that be through online communities or elsewhere. Your 20s are a time of growth and change, when a lot of old friendships have to be jettisoned.

4. There's zero reason to feel guilty about taking personal time when it makes you a better version of you- it's an old truism that you can't serve from an empty vessel ,

5. This is very easy. Daily exercise, to get thoughts and emotions circulating and moved out of the body. Meditation to accept that the thoughts should arise in the first instance.

@savanaah

  1. How do you deal with the pressure of figuring out your career or life path when it feels like everyone else has it all sorted?"

    I know what career field I want to enter but I can still relate to feeling like other people have a more concrete idea or clear path compared to me. I like to say that nothing is set in stone, or really certain. I used to want to be a nurse but I changed my mind and I'm going for web development now. There are quite a few people who will drastically change their career as they get older. I think just focusing on what I like and find fun now helps alleviate that pressure.

  2. What’s one thing you wish someone had told you before entering your 20s?

    That your 20s is all about figuring out how to unlearn things, re-parent yourself and explore who you are as a person.

  3. Do you ever feel disconnected even when you're surrounded by people? How do you cope with that?

    Yes, all the time. I try to notice the beauty in things, like a simple moment in the park where someone is playing fetch with their enthusiastic dog. I like to wonder if people will remember and treasure small moments like these, and I wonder how immersed in the moment they are. I also like to wonder what kind of lives people have led, just to get the focus off of myself.

  4. How do you balance personal time and responsibilities without feeling guilty?

    This is still a struggle of mine but I try to set timers to take a break from whatever I'm doing (which is most likely scrolling on my phone or computer) so that I can complete a chore or important task. I keep doing this until my list for the day is done. I think a big thing to combat the guilt is practicing self-compassion.

  5. What small daily habits have made a big difference in your mental or emotional well-being?

    Creating to-do lists and taking care of my cat.
