Belief in higher Power and doing wrong paradox
If people who believe in God or higher power can do wrong do they are just pretending to believe or there is no such thing?
@searchingSoul01
I personally don't believe in a god or higher power.
But I think it is possible to believe in a god or higher power and also believe that humans are imperfect.
We all make mistakes and don't always do what we believe we should.
@Clio9876
I understand but sometimes people make it a part of their personality believing and still doing wrong
@searchingSoul01
It is true that some people are very unaware of the harm they are causing.
I appreciate that it seems that they are intentionally making this part of their personality, but can we be sure of that? Generally I find it is impossible to be sure of someone's internal motivation, and life is less stressful for me if I ascribe their motivation to something more human like lack of awareness.
Is the anger this is causing you, helpful to you? Anger can be very helpful if it helps us change something that needs changing. But harmful to us if there is nowhere for it to go.
@Clio9876
Hii
It's not some kind of anger but just something contemplative for me. Talking about internal motivational I agree we can't sure of it. I usually get the for this as we have to do this to survive in the world but I wonder even am surviving without doing wrong this and I don't believe in God. If one believe in higher power then they are there to punish wrong why do one have to do another wrong to reply wrong.
@searchingSoul01
Sorry I misunderstood you. I respect the fact that you are looking for understanding.
I see that most people don't believe in themselves. They don't trust that they are doing the best they can, with the resources that they have.
Because they don't trust in themselves, they don't trust that others are also doing the best they can, with the resources they have. So they need a reason to explain why people do the things they do. And a god, or a lack of a god, is one way to explain that.
The way I see it, because they don't believe in their own motivations, they need the god to provide the motivations for their actions, and the threat of punishment is one such motivation.
Facts
Believing in something and sometimes drifting away from it is such a human thing, we can get lost in life and its struggles but there should be a time when we stop to realize what we’re actually doing. Whether people do that or not, is up to how engrossed he is in life.
I’m Muslim and actually Allah says that the best type of human is one who makes mistakes then repents. So, making a mistake is not something weird or unforgivable, it’s just that we have to take responsibility for our actions.

See all of us are imperfect and sometimes we do things we never imagined , but the thing with believers is , they are still just like everyone else , doing all kinds of good /bad things but they cover themselves up in a gods coat like they are someone superior in society and they look down on others , like they are going to burn in *** , but just because you pray to god doesnt mean you will be forgiven and others will be punished , this is the *** all the religions prech us , as for your other qeustion , there is a higher power and that is inside us not away from us
I can’t speak for everyone but in my faith which is Christianity it teaches that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23
If man was perfect or even able to go without sinning by himself then there would have been no reason for Jesus to die on the cross as a replacement for us because we could never live a spotless life ourselves.
i believe that the reason why we need to believe in a higher power is because we are imperfect creatures and without God the we have no way to direct ourselves away from sin except our own moral compass which is pretty crippled. Most people only serve themselves in which they pick and choose what to believe that fits their own perspective.
God is not like man where he is constantly changing his criteria. He is constant and immovable. His Love and his mercy endureth forever.
It is only by his grace that we are saved not by anyone’s actions. So although people may believe this does not make them perfect. Nobody can achieve that by his or her own actions. It’s only by the grace of God that we are made whole. Showing that grace and mercy that God has given us is the basis of our relationship with Jesus Christ who made the ultimate sacrifice and modeled the ultimate grace and mercy that God has for his children. So why can’t we have that same grace and mercy for each other? When the disciples asked Jesus how many times should I forgive my neighbor/brother, 7 times? Jesus answers not seven but seventy seven times. Showing us that we should have give grace because we have been given grace.
Everyone sins, we are all just human beings and we seek forgiveness from God, after we sin. Also its better to prevent things. And we try not to do bad.
