Lonely
I feel so lonely all the time and wish I had friends. I can be shy at first so it really hard for me to get close with someone right away but I think any time I get close I am a really great friend and fun to be around. I just wish there was an easier way to make friends near by like a *** but strictly only to make friends without it being weird.
@sarahr977 hi sweetie 💗 have you tried the group chats? It can be hard to find your voice at first but hopefully this site will help you with that 💖 you know we have a great forum for icecbreakers/games here, why don't you stop by its a great fun way to make friends💖 gives you a giant tiny hug 💗
I’m somewhat new to the app so still trying to figure out how all of it works. I can’t remember what it was but I was in some sort of chat a few months ago and I just felt silly because everyone else seemed to be actually diagnosed whether it was depression anxiety etc. and I’m just kinda here saying I’m lonely cuz it’s hard to find friends
@sarahr977 Hi there,
Thank you for sharing how you’re feeling. Loneliness can be really tough, especially when you're someone who has a lot to offer as a friend. It sounds like you care deeply and just need the right space to connect.
Being shy at first is completely okay, many people feel the same way. The fact that you value deep connections and are fun to be around once you open up says a lot about the kind of friend you are.
And yes, wouldn’t it be amazing if there was an app or space just for making genuine, no-pressure friendships? You’re definitely not alone in wishing for that. In the meantime, little steps like reaching out here show courage and the desire to connect—and that’s a really great place to start.
You're not weird at all for feeling this way. A lot of people would be lucky to have someone like you as a friend.

I hear you, and it’s completely normal to feel this way—especially when you’re someone who takes a little time to warm up to others. Making friends as an adult can be really tough, and it’s frustrating when there isn’t a simple, no-pressure way to connect with people who also just want genuine friendships.
Here are a few ideas that might help, though I know none are quite as easy as a "*** for friends":
Meetup.com or Bumble BFF – Apps/sites like these are designed for platonic friendships! Meetup has groups for hobbies (hiking, book clubs, gaming), and Bumble BFF lets you swipe for friends nearby. It feels less "weird" because everyone’s there for the same reason.
Hobby/Interest Groups – If you enjoy something (art, sports, trivia, D&D, etc.), local clubs or classes can be a natural way to bond without forced small talk. Shared interests = instant conversation starters.
Volunteering – Helping out at an animal shelter, community garden, or charity event can connect you with kind, like-minded people in a low-pressure setting.
Reconnect with Old Acquaintances – Sometimes reaching out to someone you used to know (even casually) can spark a friendship. A simple "Hey, how’ve you been?" can go a long way.
Be the One to Suggest Plans – If you meet someone you click with (even a little), try saying, "I’ve been wanting to try [activity]—want to join?" People often appreciate the initiative.
It might also help to remind yourself that many people feel lonely and wish they had closer friends—they’re just hiding it, too. Your shyness doesn’t mean you’re unlikeable; it just means you need the right environment to open up. And when you do, it sounds like you’re an amazing friend!
Thank you for the tips. They do somewhat help, but I am somewhat struggling with finding any interests. The basic interests that most people suggest like reading, writing, hiking, working out, never seem to interest me much and even if I try to make it into a new hobby I can never keep up with it or am simply not very good.

I can totally understand your need to have friends....I know what it feels to be alone, when you have no one to talk to or be with but I'm here for you and I'd be glad to have one of those vacant seats for being friends with you! Just a message away.
