Relationship-getting older- no kids-not married
I am getting so frustrated and sad. My boyfriend and I have been together for 3 years, and I bring up engagement, and he always has an excuse. But then the other day, he “unofficially” proposed without a ring. I just don’t get why he’s waiting. He says he wants me to have his last name and have his kids, but he can’t even propose after 3 years. I’m just so upset, and it’s interfering with our relationship. We are both about to be 29 with no kids, not married, nothing. Like we are just boyfriend and girlfriend, and I feel like we should be past that point. I’m just defeated, and I’m trying to keep it in, but it peaks out with my random irritability and nagging and having an attitude. I don’t know what to do at this point.

Have you had these conversations with your BF.
Not the generalized "do you ever think about it" and forgetting about it when he does any gesture you think will solve it. It takes full on honesty to say this is what you want and the timeline you are looking for. NOT hints or maybe and then you get upset or angry when your expectations is not but real communications.
If you have a real timeline you need to share it with BF.
If he is not ready or his timeline differs that is something you can work on. Is there flexibility in your idea of what age / time you should be married or having kids?
