What does "that girl" mean?
Hii
I had a conversation with a guy a while back where I told him that I can't understand why guys look at me talk to me and just disappear all of a sudden. It's not that I was rude or anything. Guys always describe me as a soft and caring person. I have been told I am an attractive girl and I am an intelligent person who knows what she wants.
He told me that guys 'avoid' me, not like in a bad way, because I am "that girl". And needles to say that is where the conversation got cut short and we never spoke of it again.
Could a guy or girl or someone please try and clarify this, because I have been starting to feel like a 'one-time' girl. Like only one chat, one date, one night stand, etc. Am I radiating some kind of energy or what?
Is it a bad thing to be "that girl"?

The only time that I have heard that expression was with Marlo Thomas in "That Girl."
People are very quick to label others. I guess it's more about how you feel about yourself.
I can only guess that maybe you are seen as a confident person and some associate that with arrogance or too intimidating to approach?
I'm just speculating here, so I could be completely wrong and apologies for that if I am.
I always think, the right person/people, see us for who we really are, even the bits we hide, or even if we put up a tough front, they can see the gentleness that lies within us.
I don't think being yourself can ever be considered wrong, some people need to be liked and others don't care.
You could also ask close friends how they view you and you might get insights that way, from a collective group?
What I've also noticed is some don't naturally smile, not because they are unhappy, it's just not their nature but it's perceived as misery...
I guess in my experience when I’ve heard that term, it’s been more of a positive expression. It’s describes a woman that is confident about herself and her identity. She knows what she wants and can see herself getting it. Whether it be in success, beauty, connections. It’s just a positive and uplifting way to describe a woman that many people awe because of her unapologetic and confident personality/appearance. You are in touch with your femininity and you are not afraid to show it.
To men that can be intimidating because a lot of them expect a women who are more passive, or even ones that will threaten their ego as a man. But honestly if you are around healthy, positive and truly genuine men, they will admire and appreciate your qualities instead of being intimated/threatened by it.
Dont let being “that girl” stop you from being who you are, to please people. In due time you will find the right crowd.
