i never learned how to make friends.
i'm a 21 year old college student, and i've had social anxiety for my entire life. i deal with that by isolating myself from others, and unfortunately that means i never learned how to make friends. i try to be okay with it and tell myself that i don't need others to make me happy, but that is not true. loneliness is so hard to deal with. i have one friend irl, (who initiated our friendship) but she is always busy, and she already has a best friend.
i'm studying english and have a love for books. i also really enjoy cooking/baking, kpop girl groups, cozy video games, musicals, and *** reality tv. i tend to be more comfortable talking to other women (or non-men in general) due to past experiences. if anyone else relates, i would love to try to become friends :)
I get what ur saying ,I'm 20 and I dont know how to make friends or even maintain relationships. I think it's too late for me since I've never had real friends even if I tried to make some I would probably come off as weird. I might be going to college soon and I dont know what I'm gonna do. I would appreciate any tips you have for making friends in college
@funnyLake2549 i don't really have any tips seeing as we seem to be in the same situation, but if you ever want to talk, you can talk to me :)
Hi there, you can message me. I’ve got a few tips😊
Even I feel the same.Nobody ever taught me any social skills because of which I developed social anxiety and now as a adult it has became so different to stay in society when everything seems to be difficult to without social interaction. I recently realised that from last few I hadn't even made any new friends rather lost all the old friends that I had.I had few close friends that stopped talking and broke all the connections. Now here I am lonely anxious all the time .I do want to make new friends but I don't understand how to. I don't understand how to initiate conversation or maintain it for longer time. What is normal in friendship and what's not I don't understand. I also have too much difficulty with talking or interacting with males I don't know why.i would like to make friends if someone wants to. I'm always open for deep conversations.
Hi! I’m a 21yo college student too and I’m an introvert with few friends. I’m into books and baking. You can message me on here if you’d want to be friends
@Immakindlistener22 i would love to be friends :) have you read anything good lately? and what are your favorite things to bake ???
I’m more into mystery/thriller books. Recently read The Wife Upstairs by Freida McFadden and it was really thrilling.
I love baking cakes, cookies, donuts. How about you?

I am a 20 year old college student, I am also going through the same things. Due to my bad experiences in the past I have created this wall around myself. I mostly spend time alone. I keep on saying everyone I love staying alone but deep down and on some days I do feel why I don't have one good friend in college like I used to have in school. Is there something wrong with me, is it so difficult for me to talk to people now all these things trouble me a lot. People give me weird looks and always keep on asking why you are always alone.
I am studying law and have a love for books, reading. I am also trained in Kathak. I love having good, meaningful conversations with different people. Also, taking a walk in nature is my comfort thing.
@lumieregalaxy I relate to that so much! You are definitely not the only one who feels this way. :)
Have you read any good books lately? I haven't heard of Kathak, what is it?
Yes I am currently reading Peaks and Valleys.
Kathak is form of classical dance.
