We are considering creating a new subcommunity for older adults (over the age of 50), but we want YOUR feedback! Right now, we have a Teen Only Subcommunity and a 35+ Community! Older adults would be for folks over the age of 50 and in the "2nd half of life."

I dont fall into that age category but I do think it's a great idea!
I did the survey and posted my answer to the 35 and older room so we could discuss it.
The general concensus seems to be all we need is a name change.
The Maturity Room or The Adults Room.
Maturity seems to be winning though. Or A locked room at 40-45 and older. There dont seem to be that many people oover 50. Maybe thats because even the 35 and older room is too open to toxicity for us. I am 57.

I like the idea but not so much the names. Maturity room sounds a little odd and Adult Room defeats the purpose because 18 yr olds are adults and not always mature. Of course they can participate to gain knowledge from older people. I just don't like how younger ones take over chat rooms!
I'm not criticizing names at all, but we need a place to talk without the cliques and less mature. Can there be subcommunities like 30 plus, as well as 40, 50, 60, 70's etc...
I definitely agree with a locked chat room.
I understand people don't always want to share their age but we don't know each other!! Listeners should have at least what decade they were born. I know it would be more comfortable for me.
Just thoughts and ideas.

I think categories of 20's, 30's, 40's ...etc. And I think that it should be open to everyone to participate. Younger people can see what issues may be ahead because of age/hormone/finance changes. Some of us have seen it with our parents/grandparents and can give advice.

I think there also should be a room just for adult listeners who have just transitioned from the teen side or ones for young adults only like 18-24?
@Laura I think that's a great idea. Yesterday, I just talked with a senior and I think it would help him a lot more if he could talk with someone around his age. I think he would loved it.
This should be a thing for sure. There are issues every generation deals with specifically. Not to mention they have problems younger people just can't relate to
@Persnickity It's true. Most of them are starting to have family so it's inevitable to have problems in every aspect
