A safe space

Today I spoke with my ex’s mom/children grandma. I thought it would be a quick call turned into a long conversation. It was comforting that I was able to chat with her and be vulnerable. Since my breakup I was feeling somewhat rejected by his family. But now that I got reassured that they still care for me I feel better. The fact they can keep how they feel about me separate from what’s going on with my ex says a lot. I definitely learned some things from my ex’s mom that I need to process. I’m grateful for my relationship with my ex’s mom.
