How to make friends ?
I’ve got to the point where I feel I really need friends to help me with life issues sometimes, issues that cause a lot of problems within my family, I’m not sure how to make friends at the age of 28 without appearing too needy!
@conscientiousapple6191 Hi sometimes taking a class is a good way to meet people with mutual interests. (Such as art, yoga ,or language). Often people will start to get to know each other during class and this can lead to getting together outside of class. 😊

Hi there,
The last time I tried dragon boating and I got some friends naturally...because it's a team sport so we have to back each other up. Maybe you could join some hobbies or sports group to find some. I know how hard and awkward it is to find friends when you are older...I am 36 myself...
I'm socially awkward at 36. I struggle making and keeping friends. If I actually join a friend group I never really feel like I'm a part of the group, just a visitor. No help here, just saying I get the struggle 😕
I struggle as I'm 38 and single mom. It's so difficult. I have no clue how to get out of my rut. It's easy to say things to do but it's another to start things when your socially awkward, don't know what to say, what to do, or anything. It's like I'm frozen.
Same. Same. Same. 36yo socially awkward single mother of two here.
I always found it helped me when I saw everyone… in the same boat.
I was publicly humiliated, in an almost chronic sense , hard to explain.
the point is-,I too struggle with feeling socially awkward and that one always seemed to work like a charm.
Hey…they’re just like me,,, aka human beings- just doing the best we can…
@conscientiousapple6191,
I’m in the same situation as you, I don’t know how to make friends either. And when I do end up having friends I lose them not sure why. Sometimes friends are not really there to listen to what you are going through. Well it just depends in what type of friends it is many of them are there for one another. I know it’’s hard to make friends but when I meet them they are either at work, school our other groups I recently join. Other than that I’m completely alone without anyone to talk to and dealing with my own issues sure there is a lot of great people here at 7 cups, but sometimes you just feel you need more time than what you think in order to feel better. I hope that by now you have found some great friends take care.
