Side effects with antidepressants
Does anyone else experience severe side effects with Antidepressants? I personally cannot tolerate SSRI’s. They all give me nightmares which is a real side effect and I have had all doctors dismiss it. Most recently I tried Lexapro even though I wasn’t comfortable starting another antidepressant and experienced confusion, mood swings, and loss of appetite.
@kindCherry4387 I've read about severe side effects with antidepressants, and I know someone (in real life, not at 7 Cups) who had a severe reaction to an SSRI.
It sounds like maybe you need to avoid SSRIs in future. There are several other types of antidepressant available, and doctors will be very familiar with them. Unfortunately they can all have side effects, but hopefully you can find one that works for you and only has mild side effects you can tolerate.
