Trying to be more patient
I'm struggling with impatience toward my mother whom I live with. She's a fantastic person but often she does very absentminded things as well as being extremely slow, but without having ailments or advanced age, i.e. there isn't an apparent reason for her sluggish pace. It's only a minor obstacle but I'm just feeling very frustrated sometimes. I want to learn to be a more patient person; I believe this impatience stems from my ADHD.
As someone who's lived with my mom along with my husband and children, I understand your frustration. My problem with my mom was her emotional abuse towards my autistic son. Your mom sounds like she needs a little more time to do things. It might get on your nerves, but take a deep breath when things happen. Good luck.
@RS1984 Thank you for reaching out and taking some time to give me encouragement. I'm very sorry to hear that your mother and son had some conflict; that must have been such a difficult challenge. My heart goes out to you. I hope things have gotten better now. Yes, patience is key. It's not at all an easy lesson to learn but on those days when we succeed with being patient, it feels amazing.
@gentleEast8898 My thoughts go with you; it sounds like you are dealing with quite a lot of delicate circumstances and I commend you for keeping an upbeat attitude and spirit. Yes, patience has been helping quite a lot, and when I stop and breathe I can understand the situation better. Best wishes for you as you are handling so much; please be kind to yourself.

I have a disabled sibling and a parent that is older. He is getting slower and gets frustrated at us and we get frustrated too. I understand how you feel. Be patient take time to breathe. Just try to be helpful with your mom. But don't forget to take time for yourself. Sometimes it is hard, but remember what others said patience is the key. You are a doing a good job. Just being there for any one is a great thing. Remember to breathe, rest and take time for yourself.
