Anxiety and depressed
I've been feeling so depressed lately. My profession makes me work away from home for extended periods of time. After being promised to send me home on leave, I get to know that they have cancelled my application and out me on for another 2 months. I've been longing for this so called break. All this anxiety is bringing issues from my past and haunting me. Is it normal to feel this way. The traumas that you so called healed from to come back?

You are not alone many people when stressed or in your case refused the break you may have been mentally planning on. In these time we may feel slighted and and then we may go over in our head the many times we were wronged/ used etc.

Yeah its nice to know that I'm not alone to feel this way. I've always thought that time heals everything. But I guess that's just for physical injuries. This has made me realize that just how fragile we are on the inside. I think the world needs to be more aware on mental health, its like when we go thru grief and trauma we have people tell us to toughen up or man up. if more people were aware, the world would probably be a different place.

Hello, thanks for unburdening yourself here. It really does help a little just to let go.
I hear how trapped and isolated you feel, being forced to stay in this job longer than you wanted. That sounds exhausting and unfair, and I can only imagine how much frustration and pain you’re carrying right now.
I remember feeling stuck in a situation that dragged on longer than I ever wanted, and it was so hard on me. So I can really understand a bit of what you’re going through.
What’s helped you get through it so far, even with all this weight on your shoulders?
Unfortunately what I've experienced with my trama is that it will never go away.... Any kind of reminder like 4th of July!!! I used to love fireworks and now I'm in my room with headphones on.... With the doggos lol Everytime it's different too sometimes worse then last time or not so bad.... What did u do to help with your anxiety in previous episodes???
@naturesbeauty1234
Yeah i feel you. Triggers are bad, sometimes it doesn't have to be anything specific. just a thought or a touch can send you down memory lane permanently, if you let it. For me what has worked? honestly i keep myself busy. the rough days, especially the ones where you cannot get outta bed and you just want to lie in the dark and not face the world days, oh man that's just horrible more like a nightmare. BUt what gets me up is i have a family to feed, a house to run. If i do not do that then who will. I've lost a job before going thru an episode which my boss refused to understand. Not everyone understands mental health. what people like us have to get thru everyday to survive. Sorry for being of no help.
@kindhuman9768...
Sharing your experiences is much help don't underestimate the power of just your words of experience helps cuz then you realize that you're not the only one battling the same thing there's so many people out in this world that go through the same things we do. And I agree with you about how not everybody a lot of people in my experience don't understand mental health they think that you are just playing victim or being dramatic getting attention but that's the last thing that we want I've lost jobs because of my anxiety the most recent one for sure.... But as long as you have support then it definitely makes things a lot easier.... That's why I'm so greatful for this platform everyone is so amazing!!!

You are right. we should never underestimate the power of our words of experience, coz words is all we have to express ourselves. And I've noticed that its easier to communicate to people who have or had similar experiences like us. And what you said about this site is true, even though im relatively new here, ive had some good conversations with really good people. I look forward to coming on here the minute i wake up. My social life onboard is pretty repetitive and stagnant at the same time. Thanks for reading. have a nice day
