A bartender was at a community event where Iive. Bartender asked if my girlfriend and Icould help him drop off his stuff at his bar via Uber. When the car came she was going to sit in the backseat with him until I told her twice no front seat. The bartender and her were talking a lot to the point it appeared they were flirting in my face and asked if I should get out the car so they can continue flirting. He said no one is flirting.

Am I over thinking?

@neonNest5995 Hello and thank you Nest for being here and opening up. It feels like you felt disrespected by your girlfriend's behavior in the car. I understand it is natural you would feel upset about being ignored and disrespected, especially in public. If I can ask, dow did you feel when she didn't listen to you initially?

Thank you for being here and please know you have all of us here to listen to and support. Keep sharing!

Thank you for responding and great follow-up question. My initial feeling was disbelief because we're all in our 40's so I felt the writing was on the wall. I was hoping she would connect the dots if initially didn't. The second attempt going to the back felt like pushing the envelope. To be frank it made me feel like that I was just a spectator in my relationship and they were going to do whatever they wanted to. I was hurt and felt lost because I'm mindful of my interactions with the opposite sex and the optics.

@neonNest5995 - I don't feel you're over thinking at all however if you have been cheated on prior to this or let down by someone  you depended on then it could lead to you feeling this way.  I personally feel she is being disrespectful - as a matter of fact - they are both being disrespectful.  If this is how the relationship is handled when dating how will it be when married?  Certainly something worth discussing with her and looking in to.

@BethMH12 I agree with this. I would probably feel disrespected, especially if my concerns were dismissed.

That is rough. I definitely find it strange that she would want to sit in the backseat when you're her bf..I can understand why that would be upsetting and would make u want to leave. I guess it just depends on what they were saying to each other and if there was any flirtatious touching going on for it to be considered overthinking...if that makes sense

It's disrespectful for her to be talking to the guy in such a way . The worst was in front of you. I don't think you over reacted.

For someone who's been cheated on multiple times before, no you did not overreact.  I'm with you on this.

How do you address this? I don't want to be overbearing. We talked about it and she said she was thinking about legroom for me.
