Home is wherever you can find yourself.
Home is truly wherever you want it to be. It’s taken me a long time to be able to find comfort anywhere I can find myself. I grew up in the suburbs of a moderately large city, then moved out to a smaller town, where I struggled for a long time with the learning curve of small town living. Now I’ve moved to an even smaller town in the countryside. It’s important to find community wherever you are. You need a support network, and people you can trust to help you when things get difficult. You need to be able to care for yourself through all circumstances, because you will eventually encounter problems that you couldn’t imagine or control. There’s a lot more that goes into self reliance than just having a lucrative career. I believe humans aren’t solitary creatures, we cannot handle every circumstance in life on our own. So the ability to make friends in any situation is a tremendously remarkable skill, but it must be cultivated over time. I’m happy where I am, but I still miss my old hometown, and the consistency and comfort that came with it.

Well I hope things work out better for you in the future.. Small towns can be kind of lonely. Accepting that everywhere can't be the perfect environment is key to finding peace of mind.. 🌲
