Not sure what to do
TLDR: It feels as though Murphy's Law is trailing my life like toilet paper eternally stuck to my shoe.
Growing up, I would tell myself things will get better when you get older. The bad luck will eventually end. You'll meet someone who will finally show you some kindness.
Fast forward to now, at 49 I'm more scared than ever what tomorrow will bring. I wait until 3 am to take out the garbage, and don't go outside my house unless absolutely necessary. Someone once told me that I have the luck of a dead elephant. At the time, I laughed it off. There was some truth in those words though.
Let's take the last 18 months. Extreme SA (leaving me disabled), 12 months of being given the wrong medication (8 by Dr, 4 by pharmacy), beloved pet of 15 years crossed the bridge, someone smashed a window on my house, tried to get a therapist and was told they are unable to help me, had people spy on me, threaten, and invade my privacy, and 2 separate medical issues (non related to SA), to name a few.
Being single, never married, no children or siblings, and not having any friends it has been a very lonely time dealing with these struggles. Compounded by the fact that due to the medical problems I've had to be off work.
Something that has been a beacon for me has been the anticipation of getting back to work. Today was the day. Meeting was scheduled for 8am with my new boss (new since I've been off). Turns out they restructured while I was off and my position no longer exists. But I kept my smile for 98% of the meeting.
Could really use a friend, some kind words, or encouragement right now. It's been a year since I've had anyone to talk to who wasn't doctor. Thank you for reading.

Hello and hope the sun is shining where you are today. I can relate to much of what you are going through and it can be challenging to fight the overwhelming feelings.
I am 54 and now dealing with job search again after almost 6 years. I am not married and don’t have children. I cohabitate with my 85 year old mother, so help with cleaning/cooking/yardwork/transport/other.
Often it is 2 steps forward and 3 steps backwards for me. I have my grateful list on the fridge and try to do something creative/crafty weekly. Reading devotions and working on my self confidence helps me stay positive and know that I matter and I am not forgettable.
Please know that you matter in this world and you have so much worth!
We have similarities in the luck part..I am 46 and got divorced a year ago, and then found a romantic interest online, had video calls and trusted. Turns out it was all a scam and I lost all my life savings .
Now just at the next month, lost my job assignment. Next was doctor calling me for biopsy suspecting me having blood cancer..Now going thru the tests.
Life is very uncertain and unpredictable.
I hope there's an angel waiting to bring me good news. STAY STRONG STAY BLESSED

I'm really sorry you went through all this 🥺
I hope your tests come back all clear 💖

It's so easy to give advise, but living it is different, I've had similar struggles and I try and continue to push forward, expressing yourself and surrounding yourself, especially here is a great start in trying yo dort out and start to try and deal with things. Don't try to fix everything at one time, one thing at a time, baby steps and never loose hope! Many are here to listen and help in your journey!
