I understand different culture standards etc but why is parent approval so important .... especially at your and BF ages.
my mom disliked my spouse yet of all my family my relationship lasted the longest and is still a work in progress ....... my siblings she liked the bf/gf yet all ended badly ........ maybe they do not know you well enough?
If you want to marry find a way. convince them they are wrong about you OR weigh how important their approval really is.
approval Would be nice, but in the end, the choice should be between partners. If you guys both love, respect and treat each other well. Others will see this over time.
Hi,that can be a bit a challenging situation.remember that his parents disapproval doesn't define worth or the quality of your relationship.first communicate openly with your boyfriend.share your feelings and concerns and ensure that your both on the same page.and also 1st understand his parents perspectives.Try to see there point of view.if there is an specific reason for disapproval.Set boundaries if there behavior is toxic or unacceptable and establish clear limits.wish u all the best.
You are both grown adults and your love and relationship is the important part. If you truly love your partner then his parents should accept and love you, and if they don’t, it’s their problem, and their choice. Don’t let it ruin what is important in your life.
ive noticed in my case that mothers can be very protective of their sons and often have impossible standards for their partners.
my mom acted very edgy whenever I brought my current partner around, it was because of her insecurity about losing her baby boy for good. But you know what, after my partner and I have been together for 4 years, my mom has seen how happy and stable we are together and has really grown to accept my partner, sometimes it just takes time. Follow your love, don’t give up!
I'm only 14, but I already feel lost when it comes to love. I don’t know how to tell the difference between truly loving someone and just needing them not to leave. So I always end up broken — no matter what. It hurts every single day, because I give everything I have to people… and they never seem to care.
