Single my thirties, late bloomer, disabled, relationship talk
Hey,
So I'm just trying to get a conversation going. I'm sure it's not much different than many you've heard before, but forgive me if I don't go resurrecting a similar dead post. I'd like to think I'm actually talking to some like-minded people about real issues.
I am autistic and have PTSD/C-PTSD from a lifetime of medical trauma .I look good my age, not, but I was barely human for most of my twenties.
I am moving soon, going to school, getting a fresh start.
I would like help with learning to be social again, and could really use some advice on dating in my 30s.
I barely clung to life when I was younger... But I survived that and I'm starting another chapter in my life. Can anybody relate? Who can give me some good advice on getting a girlfriend in my thirties? You probably know more than me. Any wisdom is welcomed.
@Fuzzygrim Sounds like you have a great opportunity for a fresh start!
My recommendation is to just get out and meet people and not focus on dating, at least not to start.
Many schools have a lot of different activities and clubs. Discover new interests. Once you're in a good groove if you're not meeting anyone you're interested in dating then it's time to start feeling things like - be open to friends setting you up, try out dating apps, speed dating, etc. and see what's a good fit for you.
