Starting yet another chapter of my life
Recently, I made a change in my workplace. I got regular part-time in another hospital. Officially starting my line at the beginning of June. Today, I will be giving notice in resigning from the hospital where I'm not a permanent staff in. My move to this new hospital was the right choice for me, I can continue doing something I have passion for.
In my late 30s now, I finally have a career. Something that I'd be proud of telling others about.
Two weeks ago, one of my Supervisors came to me, said she wanted to discuss something with me. Out of surprise, she said that after she has discussed with the Manager and the other Supervisor, they have decided to appoint me as a Clinical Instructor for the College that offers the Certificate program that is required for the work I am doing now. So, she spoke with me on a Thursday, and that weekend, I had a meeting with my family (parents and older brother). I want to take on this challenge. Last Thursday, I had another hour long meeting with my Supervisor regarding this new role, apparently both her and the Manager have very close ties with the Program Coordinator at the College, and that after our initial discussion, my Supervisor has told the Program Coordinator that they have a potential prospect they would like to appoint for the Clinical Instructor position. So, I will start as early as the Fall.
Teaching had been another dream of mine. During COVID, I finished a Certificate course that would allow me to teach English as a Foreign Language, if I worked overseas. But back then, because I did not have a stable career, I couldn't financially afford living and working abroad. So now that I'm in a career I have passion for, and get the chance to teach it. This seems like an even better opportunity than teaching English.
I just need to take an exam before I start teaching. So, I need to resign from my other position so I could free up more days to study. If I don't resign now, working 6 days a week between two hospitals, I will not have the energy and time to study.
Now that my career will be underway and finally getting on the right track.. somewhere done the line, I hope I will not be single anymore.

I'm finally feeling a lot happier with myself and confidence is building. Last week, at the hospital I'm resigning from, a housekeeper came to me, and told me I look a lot happier after I started my new job. Back then, I was already offered the Instructor position and have decided to resign, so I was indeed in a good mood. In my late 30s, I'm finally working towards where I should be in life.
Hopefully with this new role, and how I feel about myself, will give off a better vibe and attract someone to like me. That would be the next best thing to happen.

I finally got my work email set-up on my personal mobile device. It turns out my Supervisor had emailed the Program Coordinator on Monday, shortly after I sent her an email that indicated how I officially accepted their appointment and had attached my Resume and Cover Letter. If I hadn't set up my email on my phone, I wouldn't have seen that the Coordinator had sent me an email on Monday and would've waited until tomorrow when I get to work and check my emails then. She asked me to go on the College website to upload my documents under Careers. Then, upon doing so, to let her know, and she'll look into it. Then, we could set up an interview. Apparently, they are wanting to have me teach 6 students! And there I was, thinking it was only like 4-5.

I find with health care, the staff you work with and how management treats you, is the core of how it makes you feel while you're on shift.
I put meaning and purpose to everything I do, especially when it comes to work. Whether that be in health care or the previous retail jobs I've worked. But in the end, if no one else on your team has the same mindset, then work will eventually become more and more stressful. That is what is happening with the hospital I'm resigning from. Luckily, of all 7 years there, I've known my Manager since she was an RN, she just became our Manager during Covid years.
After the sudden passing of my Grandma, a year ago today, I took 6 months off to grieve and think about my life. That's when I decided I need a fresh, new start with my status in work.
So, it looks like I made the right choices and my life is slowly getting back on track. On the track the someone at my age would've been years ago.

Latest update on being a Clinical Instructor. It has been postponed until the New Year, because all the students have already been distributed to other hospitals for their clinical practice.
Which is better, I agree that I need more time and experience working in this new hospital, and I do want to have that exam finished. So, the college will check back in with me in October. Which I want to have the exam completed before our meeting. It also gives me more time to review my notes and I can spend more time planning of possible lesson plans. I planned to keep it simple though, clinical means hands-on experience. So, I'll skip the activities and games. The only "writing" I'll have, is to ask students write a daily reflection journal. And give them one assignment where they'll need to present at the end of the term.
My Supervisors says they have highly recommended me to the college's program coordinator. So, they say, I'm basically hired, but just will be starting in the New Year instead.
