What does a mid-life crisis feel like?
Is it when you start questioning everything in your life? Wondering if the long term marriage you’ve invested in is the right one for you to keep holding onto as you move into 50+? Wondering about the career path you’ve placed yourself in for nearly 20 years and whether you can make it to retirement? Wondering about all the relationships and friendships you have cultivated and whether any of them are truly worth the time and effort? Are these the questions that keep you up at night when you have a mid-life crisis? And how do you get through it all?

I think a mid life crisis can mean different things to different people. I think it is very normal to start questioning things at around this age. When we are young it is understandable that we are guided in our goals and decision making by our elders or our culture. As we get older it makes sense that we start to think a bit more for ourselves and wonder what we want for the second part.
It sounds like you have some big questions and perhaps difficult decisions to make. Some sort of life coach could probably help you work through those.
Whether it is a crisis though, probably depends on you. Change can be harmful/damaging. Or it can be an opportunity. Getting a bit of help and guidance can ensure it is more of the latter, than the former.
Best of wishes.
in my heart I think everyone has this feeling no matter the age. I grow when I share my feelings with friends. In the late hours I turn to this site to still be open and get insight.
i appreciate you opening up
for me i have struggled with work and relationships and turn to conversations with anyone to help or at least ponder what they say.
don’t be afraid to tell your loved one what you are going through. You connected with each other for a reason and maybe opening up is all it takes

Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't actually answer the question!
What does it feel like?
For me, it felt frightening. And frustrating. And sad. And stuck. And painful. And lonely. 😔
But later it also felt liberating. And loving. And inspiring. And brave. And hopeful. And fortunate.
Best wishes
