What would you do?

If someone offered you a pill and said "You will lose you memory of bad things that happened to you, you will forget about relationships and people that hurt you, and you will get to start a new life somewhere else without those memories" would you take that pill?

Good question! Even though life can be hard , we have to still deal with our problems as conflicts/ difficult people are unavoidable unless you are completely cut off from society. I personally would not, because maybe the same issues would arise if I respond the same way.

yes and no? I mean, my identity comes from my trauma, it's a part of who I am and yet I hate it. I hate that I've had to become this person because of what I've been through and I hate having to remember it. I suppose it would depend on whether I would still be who I am, but I just don't remember why I am who I am.

@zeetee17 No, I feel like I can learn valuable things from those experiences, though it would be nice to just forget them, you could be removing valuable lessons from your mind, and then make the same mistake again.

Very great question. I would likely not take the pill. Not to brag by any means, but I just completed 3 years of trauma therapy processing A LOT. I am a much stronger and more insightful human because of these bad things. I don't love them or feel excited that I experienced them, but I'm much better now. I have a life that wouldn't have happened without those bad things. Sending love and positivity to everyone!

@zeetee17

As tempting as it would be on my darker, harder days, those experiences have shaped me into the person I am. So I wouldn't take that pill.

No, memories help you grow and mature. You can learn something from just about every experience. Not only that bit your experience can help someone else as well. Know I do understand that some people go through very traumatic experience. They receive memories that will forever have an effect on them. To them this bill might be heaven. I for one don't want to forget my tragedies. That way I won't have to repeat them.

Yes. I would. I deserve good things in my life and a fresh start. I know such negative experiences are meant to shape us into better versions of ourselves. But they did what they had to do. I am ready now.
