What would you do?

If someone offered you a pill and said "You will lose you memory of bad things that happened to you, you will forget about relationships and people that hurt you, and you will get to start a new life somewhere else without those memories" would you take that pill?

@zeetee17 I don't think I could, i feel like life is a culmination of moments and events that we deem that are good or bad to us. However, the lessons that we do gain from the bad moments and times are valuable not only for our growth but our realization of who we are when faced with those bad times.

I wouldn't take it. I think that the bad things that happened to me helped to shape me into who I am today, and I now use them to advise adolescents and teens who are going through similar situations. Do I wish sometimes that I didn't have to deal with the anxiety and PTSD caused by my trauma? Yes, but for the most part it has taught me strength and resilience.

I'd refuse it. No question. The life after the pill won't be perfect, it can't be. Now I've been thru events in my life I've learned, especially in the last year, ways to carry on. I was adjusting well to anxiety, accepting it, understanding it but now dissociation has made that harder. BUT .. I'm going to work thru it. I've had a really tough week, hardest for a long time, but I'm still here, looking for ways to handle this x

I won't because there is a journey always.

We become what we are because of lessons we learn. Sometimes we need to go through all the toxicity and challenges in life to be the best version of ourselves.

I choose wisdom.
