Hi there. Hope you're doing OK. I'm sorry you're going through this painful experience. I've been there and know how hard it is. My husband was unfaithful and had an affair for 5 years and when I found out I had to forgive him for the kids. Unfortunately, he did if again after 2 years and eventually we got divorced. I had to live for two years struggling to forgive him and learn to trust him again. It's hard to cope with indefinitely if it was in the past. I can't even imagine what it's like if it's still going on. Can't you confron him and get him to open up about his reasons and intentions regarding this affair. I think you at least need to know if it's serious or just a fling. He needs to show remorse and work to earn back your trust and be willing to work on your marriage. As hard as it is, I think the only chance for your marriage to survive this affair is for you to communicate and work together to get past this. You can do it alone.

I hope you can find peace of mind soon. Take Care.

I'm in this boat as we speak. It was my wife that cheated on me. It was a one time thing and that's it, I said I forgave her and I want to work on it. We have 2 daughters (8 & 10) and I knew I had to try for them. But it is so hard to forget sometimes. It's been a little over a year and I think weay be over now. What I'm trying to say is, you have to be true to yourself. I honestly did forgive her, but forgetting can be a whole other story. And if you let that sit with you, you turn out like me a bitter a__whole who just makes everything worse.
