Is it normal
Is it normal to feel that maybe someone caused your mental illness. I feel about 10 years ago my like was normal. I worked as a respiratory therapist and was working while raising 2 kids. Then I met someone and within a few months everything went south. I job gone kids gone. On all different types of meds. I'm not sure if my mental health decline coincided with just meeting him or if the things I have been put through caused it all to snowball.

I don't know what the relationship was like but if it was abusive in any form then most certainly your mental health will suffer for it. Heavy stress loads (work, family, relationships) also can wear you down mentally, causing issues.
Take care.
That person was probably a Narcissist (or Life Vampire)
I also felt like there were vampires in my life but now when I look in the mirror I am the vampire. If we can see hope in the hopeless good in bad people then the war is over and someday it would be a relief for the war to end. If we have hope for others we can rekindle a tiny spark of kindness in others.
