Living with Fibromyalgia
Hey guys, this is my first entry here. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia a year ago after struggling with my symptoms and hospital visits of 4 years. I tried accepting for what my life was going to be like but whenever I have a pain flare-up, despair takes over and I am so tired of keeping up with everything. The exhaustion is suffocating. I get bed ridden whenever I have a bad episode which makes everything so challenging. I have a supportive family but when in pain, nothing really makes sense anymore.
@FibrohurtsTo
improve fibromyalgia symptoms, you should consider following specific diets based on your needs.An overall diet for fibromyalgia should be rich in antioxidants and vitamin B12. These drugs are known to improve fibromyalgia symptoms. Therefore, a basic fibromyalgia diet should contain the following:fresh fruits and vegetables;whole grains;healthy fats;low-fat dairy products;High-quality protein, such as chicken or fish.It is also important to limit salt and sugar intake.Fatigue is another important symptom of fibromyalgia. You can add some energy-rich foods to your diet. In order to do this, your food intake needs to be high in fiber and low in sugar. Eating sweets, for example, will only give you energy for a short period of time and then lose it immediately. To get more energy for the day, your diet should include:Nuts and seeds, like almonds:broccoli;beans;Tofu:oatmeal;dark green vegetables;avocado.
Thank you for the advice. I have already altered my diet as per the requirements of this condition. Yet, I end up having bad days. It's difficult to be hopeful I guess.
Do things during the time when you are not in pain , that are memorable, powerful, shared experiences and full of life..... So that when the unavoidable pain strikes, you have something better to remember, something to look forward to.
@Fibrohurts I am sorry to read that you are going through so much pain due to your
fibromyalgia. As someone with rheumatoid arthritis I know how hard it
can be to have a chronic illness. Being in severe pain for extended
periods of time can be incredibly difficult and the
exhaustion makes things even more challenging. Unfortunately, I do not
have a solution or easy fix, but I just want to let you know that you
are not alone in this experience and that it is okay and completely
normal to feel upset, angry, overwhelmed, or frustrated about your situation at times.
The fact that you are dealing with this condition every day shows how strong you
are, even though it may not always feel that way. Sending you my best
wishes.
