Missing him terribly

My dad was one of my very best friends. He could not let anyone in the world feel unloved. Some men have that ability. Some men don't. The man who raised me did. He's been gone now for three days and the ache is beyond imagining. There are a lot of good things to remember and moments that make me laugh. But it always comes back to this: whether or not his essence still exists somewhere, the time we shared is done and those days are now gone. I'm so lucky to have been his child. He always told me he was the lucky one. Life will never be the same. And I just want to reverse the hands of the clock and do each and every day over with him. Even the days we fought, I don't mind. I'll take them all. One more hug, one more talk, one more laugh. I'd take anything I could get.

You are very lucky. My dad died a yr ago from cancer. I always loved him but that was a one way street. If I were you focus on how amazing he was and make him proud. Do great things. Sometimes in my head I’ll pretend like my dad hears me but I know he can’t but it helps for a lil

@dragonball4lyfe Your words touched me at a very difficult moment and I am so grateful to you. You're right, having that internal dialogue is a big help. I'm so very sorry for your loss as well and hope that each day brings you more peace.
