New friends

Why does it seem so much harder to find new friends as you get older. The friends you've made up until that point are all the same usually. They say they will always be there for you, Garda yards yards and boom one day they just aren't anymore. What happened you ask???? Life! Life happened. At my age (mid thirties) I'm not wanting to do the things I did when I was younger to meet new people. However I'm too young to not go out and meet new people. Basically I need new friends. My support circle is basically nonexistent. I can't count on anyone it feels like. I don't want to feel this way. I miss having coffee and hanging out with some good company. As desperate as it sounds... I'm putting it out there that new applicants for the friendzone may apply in the comments. Haha just kidding (sorta). My problem is I'm too nice and people tend to only befriend me to use me in some way. I know that are some genuine people out there and I'm hoping I can find just one or two of them.... is that so much to ask?!? I want to go out and have fun while I'm still young. I look forward to reading the comments I get haha. Maybe a little nervous too. Thanks for reading. Take care.

I can relate to this. I’ve always been able to make friends pretty easily throughout my life but now in my mid-30s I find myself keeping ripple at a distance, I make work friends and I have 1 best friend that I’ve had since I was 14 but he lives in a different state so we don’t hang out as much as we’d like, but beyond that I feel like I don’t vibe with people or trust them to hang out outside of work. Admittedly, I’m a bit of a homebody, but I do wish I had a social life available when I want to get out of the house to grab a coffee and talk or something like that. But I can never find people around my age that are able to have deep conversation or be serious enough to talk about life. I love to laugh and joke and have a pretty good sense of humor, but as I get older I’d like to hang with people who can also talk about life and give advice or perspective. At this point I feel like it’s impossible to make new friends and it just further pushes me to be even more of an introvert .
