Any advice/opinions on how to deal with social anxiety?

I’m struggling right now and I feel like it might help to talk to someone without the judgement.

You could read this book called “Untethered Soul” it helps us realize we are not our thoughts, and helps us separate from our thoughts.

@generousZebra9670, a lot also depends on the intensity of the social anxiety issues - eg; are there any physical issues like trembling, shaking of hands, racing heart beat, unable to speak, etc. or is it just unable to be with people.

No matter what, the below can help a lot for social anxiety issues. See which one suits you best.

@generousZebra9670 Well, going from experience, the way I managed to deal with mine was by putting myself in situations where I just HAVE TO interact with others.

Volunteering for some customer service orientated role would definitely benefit you in the long run. A few years ago I would be afraid to even look people in the eyes, but now public speaking comes comes as a second nature. Just make sure to get yourself out there.

I used to struggle with Anxiety ALL the time and depending on how bad your symptoms get I'd say yoga is THE best way to calm your heartrate and to help relieve any body tension. At first it's going to seem overwhelming and you want to cry cause that's how I felt because yoga is more gentle so it feels like you have a lot of time to think of how your body is feeling. BUT stick with it. and it doesn't have to just be yoga any exercise that gets your body moving I say DO THAT and do it until you feel tired. Another thing is talk to someone that will not judge or bring stress to what your already feeling, so talk about how your feeling, your symptoms, who cares if you're a broken record just get it out. trust me I did that with my sister , to my past bf and it did help me calm my brain down. If it's not super cold outside go in your backyard and walk loops around your yard, heck you can even do a light jog if you need to. I fought with it since I was 19 and now I'm in my early thirties and haven't had an anxiety attack since my late twenties so it is possible to overcome anxiety it just takes a butt load of work but anyone can do it. Hope that helps :]

Hi there! Something that helped me was to be myself because when I portrayed an image I had to live up to it n that was stressful. To not try to fit in or try to compare or be like others. And to understand the fact that we can never make sure that others think good about us so stopped trying. Also how does it matter what others think about me..practiced self love n worked on developing self esteem then it did not matter what others think. N I realized if we are comfortable in our own skin..if we accept ourselves only then others start accepting us the way we are. Hope this helps 🙂
