Trying to find what I have lost
So over the past months I've been feeling really off kilter I guess one could say. I have had down days and the cold weather and no sun , and the pandemic didn't exactly help things. I have struggling with being happy with the town my husband and I are in and frankly we have looked for a new place but no one is renting right now. I realize you just need to roll with it so I've been trying to find ways to remain happy and deal with the fact that we can move, just not anytime soon. I have no friends in the area that i am in and so I have been attempting really hard to connect with people who have things in common and enjoy pen paling. I feel like I am nothing more than a shadow of the person I was. I'm trying so hard to get back to feeling good. The problem is I seriously don't know what I stopped doing that made me feel good. I've gone back to doing my Oracle cards which make me feel somewhat connected and grounded. I've been attempting to listen to music that makes me happy, doing my light therapy, staying off of the negative social media and finding hobbies. Seriously , I have done everything but start therapy. I actually miss who I was. I'm not this person. Does anyone have any good ideas on what to try?
Same here. I've been making a point of talking to strangers more. I've also been complementing at least one co worker every day and telling them how much I care about them (I've worked there a decade so we're all pretty close). I feel like I'm practicing at friend making but hey, maybe it'll stick.
I've been feeling this too. I think what you're doing--trying to connect to people and finding hobbies--is a good way to start. I've read a line somewhere that says, "we learn about ourselves in practice, not in theory." I think this means that by taking an action, however small and inconsequential it seems, we will eventually find what we're looking for, compared to just sitting and thinking about it and hoping things will get better.
I am in the same boat.
I am a 47-year old woman who literally bought herself Lite-Brite from the Amazon Treasure Truck today. It brought me happiness as a child and maybe it will again.
@Thatrandomchick2021
I have started volunteering as an opportunity to interact with people. It's not much, but it is helping a little.
I once had a therapist tell me that it was impossible to underestimate the power of having something to look forward to. Are you looking forward to anything? What can you look forward to?
Well...........In my case I am alone and lookinfg for someone to come in my life......what you guys think of I am 43 male.....do you think i should go for having new life partner in this age or i should live my life as it is ??
