Turning 37
I'll be turning 37 in a few days. And I'm scared of getting older. With no family left alive. I don't feel like my birthday or existence means anything... I'm so alone.
I turned 37 a few mths back. I'm not really afraid of getting older, more like I feel a bit lost. I should have my life figured out and yet, I haven’t. About feeling alone; I've been married for years and with 3 kids, I'm never alone, but mentally I feel like I am too. You're not alone. Talking might be a good outlet.
Well I'm 42. And there's a lot of people in the world who don't even live to be 42. So I look at it as I'm grateful to get to be so old;) and I am going to be grateful to have more wrinkles as I get older because there's so many people who would have probably given anything to grow old and get wrinkles.
I think I’ve cried at every birthday since I’ve turned 30 (now 36) but something I really try to remind myself is that it really is a blessing just to have another year of life. Hope you had a nice birthday!
@KaiPie I hope you are feeling okay now that it has been a few weeks. I relate to your feelings. I just turned 38 and my family fought with each other the entire birthday before finding out about a friend's suicide. I have trouble feeling optimistic about the future, and what used to excite me makes me sad. I can recognize that these are just feelings and that they don't reflect reality, but that doesn't always make them go away. Sending you fond thoughts,
