I don't like this planet
I'm not talking about all the terrible wars and disease. Sure, that's all bad but that's not the reason. I fundamentally don't like this planet.
I know people will offer positive messages of "hope" and all that but it doesn't interest me. I'm not suicidal, I'm not wanting to heal and I'm not wanting to find meaning in life
I'm okay. The planet sucks.
I think this is a message that will help some people. Stop trying to heal yourself to this imaginary state where you can see the beauty and wonder in everything. Things are ugly. The planet sucks, for the most part. Sure you'll scrape some happiness out of it somewhere and I'm glad but if you don't it's not your fault...
I feel always I was born in the wrong time... like... I think thoughts that most would consider evil or unethical... but almost 99.9% of the time I get proven again and again this planet and those on it, just aren't worth saving.
Hope signaling helps no one. Social media is suffocating any hope of people remembering what an actual human bond is. The list goes on and on man.
I hear you on the negative vs positive things. Sometimes you just -want- to read something negative in all the sugary good feelings.
@SpanishPoppy your right, I was rude.
@Mark7766 sorry I was rude.
Nobody really likes this planet man, if ever we find another one we can live on, majority will move. But trust me, there's a lot of jerkwads on this planet, but that doesn't mean we have to be.
@SandThePup
True but we also don't have to be good either
Neutral is ok
I don't hurt anyone afaik but I'm also not a bundle of positivity. Why should I be? I don't feel the need to continuously try to inject positivity into everything. Like @sandpup said, that stuff starts to grate pretty quickly
This site has its uses but the constant reassuring and "hey, you're doing great!" messages and have a shiny new badge for doing the most basic of things 🙄 It seems better suited to 5-year-old children 😂
It's exactly the point I tried to make that social media (while great.) Is suffocating our ability to not be mentally f**ked up.
Imagine how much better most of us would be if we actually had human interactions without a screen protecting our anonymity...
I bet most that are smart arses would think twice before calling someone a name for not understanding the point that was attempted to be reached, not to mention body positioning, tone of voice and facial expressions help us as humans decide if a person is being an intended threat or not.
Blegh... the immature and immediate name calling is just such a huge pet peeve of mine... why do people do it?
I have no idea why it goes there for people but a simple. "I do not agree with the your view, <insert productive criticism as well as personal view without attacking the other person's intelligence here>." Would suffice.
People are just unapologetically disconnected from reality not to mention other humans.
To further add to my word vomit here, I just don't care for "toxic positivity". And yes, it's a real thing. Look it up. And while neutral is good to much complacency is bad.
@Mark7766 I totally agree, a “shiny gold star sticker” is an annoying feature of 7 Cups and a lot of pop psychology
@SandThePup
I meant @SpainishPoppy
If you want to complain about the planet and that it fundamentally sucks more than war and diseases and people, and animals and bugs and microbes, and hazardous substances on it, and you have some much larger complaint about it, then that is your right. Perhaps you can travel to Mars, but other than that, there isn’t a whole lot to do about it. There have been thousands of years of people on planet earth and I am sure a few must have written about hating the planet and disgusted with any happy horse dung or rainbows they don’t want shoved up their rear end. So I hope that makes you feel neutral, or more displeased or whatever you want to feel. 7 Cups may generally be a place where people try to offer something to help you feel better, and I suppose you stated you didn’t want that. So I apologize for being rude. There are therapists here that will probably be more helpful with such a broad complaint…
All the best

I need therapy because the planet sucks?
Maybe the planet needs therapy
@Mark7766 My frustration with your post was that saying “the planet sucks” is like saying oxygen sucks. Saying the planet needs therapy, is like saying water needs therapy. That said, if I understand what you said, I agree that some of the common feel good blow sunshine up someone’s rear end is not helpful. But you might want to work with some real world constraints. You live on this planet. There are no viable alternatives. So your original post strikes me as some whiny spoiled complainy thing! You may be trying to vent your frustration, or you are trolling by saying something impossible for anyone to help you with. Maybe a therapist might provide you with a bit more focus. Maybe you’ll get some sympathy here. But I suspect no typical listener here can help you get off the planet or help you appreciate it with your non specific complaint. I will suggest that there are some truths in some of the advice that sounds cliché. You might be better off trying to accept that you’re on this planet. We’re all on this planet! How special you must be to want something better than literally what all of humanity has and or is currently enduring on this planet. “I demand that the planet be what I say it should be” is an unrealistic expectation. So yeah, you might benefit from something that aligns your expectations with something POSSIBLE! It may be possible that you have a bunch of complaints that you describe as “the planet”. In that case, you might benefit from articulating that more precisely.
@helpfulAvocado7912
You just sound like someone who got offended cause someone is complaining about 'your' planet.
Well, the planet is not all about 'oxygen' and 'water'. He has his own experience on this planet. And he's sharing his view on it. He's not asking for anyone’s help to appreciate it. You don't need to tell him to articulate precisely, he's not making any demands. Some people getting his point is enough.
@Mark7766 Have you ever heard of antinatalism? If not, you should check it out. There are websites about it.
I do not call myself an antinatalist but I do somewhat lean toward the philosophy.
The reason why this planet sucks is because living things exist on it. Anything that is alive & has a central nervous system can feel pain. Any organism that can feel will suffer. It is inevitable; that is the nature of life itself. A while ago I concluded that the only truly moral situation is one where no humans are alive (at the very least), & preferably one where no sentient beings exist. That would be a world where no suffering would ever occur.
