Adult child issues
My youngest son has no ambition in life. He doesn't want to better himself and his mother is no help either. I've tried everything that I know of with no success we basically need a neutral party to listen to both of us

I can only imagine how painful it is for you as a parent to see your youngest son struggling in life. Is there anyone, a relative or friend, whom you both trust and who could help? Would your son consider to talk to a therapist ? It can help in many ways from learning new coping skills to finding new ways of thinking.

@lvdesertrat I have the same need, but in my case the kid is an old college acquaintance and he's 77. we're not a couple. I'm just the live in maid so to speak. Same need though. Looking for one to help bridge the communication and motivation gap. I think this person wants us to fail. Should it be about my survival to begin with?? Is my survival possible with a more expensive rental?
@lvdesertrat I would consider finding a relative or friend you both trust to listen to both sides and help solve this issue. While your son might not feel the most comfortable talking to you about it, maybe he'll open up more to others. If this doesn't solve the issue, an alterative would be to find a therapist for your son. Maybe finding something or someone to motivate him would be beneficial too. @lvdesertrat It is terrible what you are going through. Parenting is hard and challenging. I hope you and your wife come to a middle ground in regard to your son soon.
