@SunShineAlwaysGrateful I always hear people say you can't let you're thoughts or you're emotions control you, but in my mind it's always been a question of HOW? I feel as if no matter what I do my thoughts and emotions control me and I don't know if it's just learned behavior from my past/over the years.  

What empowering POSITIVE mindset shift have YOU experienced that allows you to live more authentically?

Doing anything useful or not useful, like once I opened a tuna cane for my brother, and I felt so positive. But now I don't feel like that because I can't do anything for my life.

How can you practice taking control in a positive way? 

I don't practice that at all, I keep thinking bad about myself.

What are the benefits by not being controlled by your thoughts?

I don't know, may you tell me please. 

@SunShineAlwaysGrateful.    When I get very negative thoughts about myself I like to say affirmations. 

“The past is over .I forgive myself”

I also like to do several minutes of mindfulness breathing to stop negative ruminating thoughts.
