Pre-retirement is a very special period in life. The last years of being part of the work-force (perhaps). Admitting to the fact that an important stage of life is coming to an end and a new one, unknown and scary is about to began. For some the cut between work and retirment is sharp, for other gradual but never the less it is something we all need to face. yes

Talking to younger listeners is hard when you are over 60. They belong to a different generation.

Keeping old friends is a hard task. Old friends are part of our lives but with the years it is harder and harder to keep the friendship vibrant.

@Laura I lost my dad 2 years ago and it was something that I was in shock over. Losing high school acquaintances did not hit home like losing a parent. I guess when someone that you have been with all your life dies then it really drives home the point that there is an end to life.

So now I am getting back on track after getting support and living my life with all the vigor I can muster.

My mother was my best friend so when she died to say I was heartbroken would be an understatement. Its been over ten years and although

I've learned to accept her death the pain and emptiness never goes away. Finding 7 cups and talking to people hear both young and closer to me own age has helped to fill the void
