Which challenges can i expect when i get older?
Hi there,
i am new member in 50+ group community. I am currently 43 years old, therefore i am not 50+ years old now. But i am wondering what i can expect as part of healthy aging. Which changes will i notice in my body and mind when i will get older (50, 60, 70, 80 years old)? I am not the one who expect to be eternally young and so, i wish so inform myself on which challenges i might face when i get older.
@CheerySandi
unfortunately there will be no heads up as aging seems to hit people differently .......
i think the only advice an 80 yr old neighbor taught me was keep moving ( she walked a lot every day) and stay engaged in learning something new.
As toughTiger6481 says, we all have a different experience. But at the same time, we can share our own unique experiences and we can all learn from the experiences of others.
I am 50. When my kids were little, whatever phase of life they were in, I would remind myself that "it's just a phase." I realize now, our entire lives are filled with many, many phases. Nothing is permanent, and nothing stays the same. This is just the nature of being alive in an ever-changing world.
Guaranteed:
1. Your body will change. You may not like everything you see, but you have to learn to live with it regardless.
2. Your hormones will continue to change and may play some funny (and not so funny) tricks on your body and your emotions.
3. Someday you will die (we all know this, of course, but no one likes to talk about it). Make the most of your experience here on this planet, right here, right now.
4. A sense of humor can go a long way.
5. Take care of yourself, physically and emotionally. Do the things that make you feel whole. Go for walks, spend time with your friends, stay connected with yourself... everyone is vastly different, but the point is that the better you feel about being the person that you are, the better equipped you are to handle whatever comes your way.
Just my 2-cents :)
