We are considering creating a new subcommunity for older adults (over the age of 50), but we want YOUR feedback! Right now, we have a Teen Only Subcommunity and a 35+ Community! Older adults would be for folks over the age of 50 and in the "2nd half of life."

Off topic but another suggestion I feel strongly about is being able to save all of your one on one chats. Beneficial to the listener and listenee. For example I have an on going chat with someone where some days I just chat but I'm also in the middle of a long, hard to talk about topic. I needed to take a break in the story as the very emotional and end is coming. However, with the chats only saving so many messages I can't go back to refresh where I was. Yes privacy but I could take screenshots. Which when I was assualted by a listener and reported them all the administration that I contacted wanted was screenshots. We can't copy and paste but we can screenshot. If it's privacy it's not full proof. A screen shot can be shared anywhere on the web! A private conversation with a listener should be able to be saved without screen shots.
Also when I'm feeling alone and depressed reading a prior conversation helps to bring me down and calm me but not when half of the conversation or most of it is deleted. I know theres places to take notes but sometimes when your frantically writing or all of this crap is pouring out of you it's hard to focus on notes. Many times I just need to re read to bring myself down.
I know this has inproved as in old conversations are not deleted completely anymore but I strongly think saving the whole conversation should be an option.
@EnergySensitive I understand this as well... and i don't have the option of screenshots, -no cell phone and on an old desktop computer. And yes, being able to see old conversations to see how you were able to progress forward in the past can help us put things back into perspective once again. It can make it so we don't rely so much on other people if we can just refer back to copies of a helpful conversation. It could help take some of the pressure off the listeners by just adding an OPTION TO SAVE individual conversations-we can pick just the helpful ones and not waste space on the site saving every conversation. GREAT idea!

My cousin is on the teen site, hes 16, and hasnt been able to find a listener who can help him. The listeners he finds either never respond back or keep referring to other listeners to help him. He seeks emotional support from someone unbiased. Can anyone help him?

I saw your question, and I am wondering how your cousin could find help. Do you think he needs someone a bit older? I have no idea if over 18 listeners are allowed to help an under 18. the legal aspects maybe a reason. Let me know if you hear anything (tag me?). A friend on my son is on 7cups, he is 16 too. I will ask him. I'll post here if I hear anything.
I just don't understand why now my post are being deleted by folks. I don't even understand why when I am not saying anything bad. This doesn't make any sense to me. Why would folks be doing this in the forums?

We have far larger Community of 'older Listeners/Members' than you may think and I believe our Community is growing fast but we do hve vastly different needs that younger Listener/Members.
There's room for 35's and older in a dedicated sub communites, offering topics and that suits the age group targeted. We all have different experiences to contribute and share, so why not have a sub community, sub divided in decades? This seems to be the general feeling, I'm sure it would be a great place to join.
