50+ Check-in November 13-16, 2023

Fall is my favorite season. I love the sunshine on the colored leaves. The animals scurrying about preparing for winter. The smell of the earth and the cooler temperatures. When I was little my entire extended family sat around our dining room table enjoying Thanksgiving together and playing games after dinner. Now, I have the table in my home and it makes me feel warm and safe and happy sitting around it with my children, grandchildren and elderly parents. Thanks for reminding me to take a moment to reflex. It truly does make me happy.

I try not to summon fond memories from my childhood, as they would only throw my present situation into sharper contrast. Don't need any reminders of what my life has become in late middle age.
