I have never enjoyed November at all...... ever. 

It was the month my favorite grandparent had a b-day but other then that ...ugh.    the stress and added chores of things only make the last couple months miserable even when i was young. 

i live in cold climate so messy leaves and snow and GREY  all the time ............

November goes by quickly thankfully .....until the set on of holidays not a big family gathering type person so just as soon stay home ....

Then it sets off the hourglass to Christmas and i despise shopping of any sort... and spouse successfully makes it unbearable as i say "i am buying X for person A"   .... then spouse insists they can do better idea/ gift / price etc and screws up every  single time............. cannot tell you how many times person A says "thanks but i wanted X " ( like i planned on before spouse decided they KNOW BEST FOR EVERYONE ) so the last two months of year i am always happy if i do not smack spouse silly or worse... guess it is a test of self control. 

As a child, we would rake the leaves into a huge pile, then jump from the top of our treehouse into it. It was a lot of work, but it was always fun. Now I look forward to making a thanksgiving dinner for a few of my family and friends. It’s probably the only time of the year where I actually cook a whole meal. Lol.🙂. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday of the year, family friends, feast, and football. The 4 f’s.

When you think of November, what are some things you recall enjoying from younger days, and what is it you look forward to now?

When I was little, I looked forward to Thanksgiving because it meant two days off from school and a big dinner, usually with my aunt and uncle visiting.

When you think of November, what are some things you recall enjoying from younger days, and what is it you look forward to now? 

I used to look forward to one of my sister's birthdays at the end of the month.  I think I looked forward to the Thanksgiving holiday, but not in my house.  Now I just want to keep my job and get through November.

November was great for horse-riding out in the woods and countryside. I remember it always smelled wonderful and the horse's hooves on the dry leaves made a distinct noise. I remember wonderful gallops at the edge of fields on a horse (Valbergais was his name) that had so smooth a pace I felt I was in a moving armchair. On occasions I also followed hunts with other riders, dogs and hunting horns. It was a lot of fun and I was a daredevil back then too... 

November this year is very wet and windy. I don't have any particular expectations and just hope the sun comes back long enough I can use the laundry line outside.

Hi. November was not a great month when I was young. Although it meant 2 days off school, it also meant celebrating with family I only saw at Thanksgiving, and in-law family of my cousins. I was a lot younger than everyone else. I did not enjoy these people as my presence was never received well. I did enjoy the appetizer my mom only made in Thanksgiving though lol

As an adult, November is more than just Thanksgiving. I enjoy the turning of the leaves, cooler weather, AND friends and family. Sometimes the family we choose makes all the difference.

I am from Connecticut near to New York.
Every fall we would get an influx of New Yorkers coming up to see the fall foliage.

We called them 'Leaf Peepers'.
