Wow! I have most rewarding things for each decade. My children have to take first place then my second husband (and soulmate), then my two granddaughters. They are all super close in importance to me!

What was the most rewarding thing that happened in your life in the past or currently?
Therapy and writing/telling my story - I've had the opportunity to read it out loud to a group only once, and I hope to tell it to more people.

I believe that sharing your story was a big step in your life. Listening to the stories of other people, what they went through, how they survived can help so many people. I hope you can carry on sharing your story with many more.
The most rewarding thing in my life are my children I believe God sent me children so I did not have to feel alone and my most rewarding gift is my husband who loves and supports me without them I don't know where I will be in life they get me through the day.

One event comes to mind that I will never forget. Back in 2013 I was in pretty good shape. So good that I thought maybe I could enter our local 3k walk/run race. My brother (about a year older than me), said he'd come and run with me. Well, he came. He told me at the beginning of the race that he would stick with me as long as I kept running. He didn't care how slow I ran. I just had to keep running. Having him there beside me, and not wanting to loose his support I pushed through and ran the whole race. Oh, I was pretty slow toward the end. But I did it. My brother was so proud me...and I was proud of myself too. It was special because we didn't get to spend a lot of time together. He came and spent most of the day with me. Will never forget that day. ❤️

My brother is awesome... right now he's helping a family repair their roof for free. Giving them the supplies and doing most of the work himself. He's 70 - no spring chicken. He still races too. He's pretty special. ❤️

Of course having my son is just the absolute best thing in my life, but as a personal/non-family kind of thing, I was super proud of myself for graduating college. I worked so hard for it!

@amiablePeace77 I used to enter a lot of art competitions. Once I entered a painting of a pair of coy fish that was awarded 2nd place in the wild life division. The next day I learned that it was also purchased on opening night of the competition. I felt so accomplished.

I can't think of any recent event that was rewarding or fulfilling. Probably because chronic illness & depression take the joy out of just about everything...but I keep doing what I do anyway. I remain hopeful.
A few months ago I was out at a restaurant/bar doing what I usually do, which is sketching people with ink & brush. One guy liked my stuff & paid me for a sketch. I don't recall the exact amount but it was more than $20, I know that much. I put the cash away after I got home, & still have it.
Most fulfilling thing I can recall in the last few years is when I built my 6th cane. It was fulfilling at the end, not during. 😄 That was in 2019 & took up much of the year for two reasons: 1) my conditions were behaving themselves more often than not--lucky me!--& 2) the wood for the shaft was temperamental & rather delicate, so I couldn't make the cane with my usual method. It took an awful lot of rasping & filing, & sanding, & more sanding... It was also the first cane I made using epoxy with powdered plastic (fired polymer clay) as a filler for gaps. It looks pretty now but Moses on a pogo stick, it was a b***h to make. I was so glad once the last coat of finish had dried.

Rewarding is a hard word. I’d have to say it was traveling with my family (my older parents and sisters). We’d choose a destination and go during the summer. My favorite places were always the ones full of natural beauty and wonder, like Yellowstone, Alaska, and Hawaii. The air was so easy to breathe. I felt home. Nature.
