50 and unloved
Hello,
I turned 50 this summer. My wife of 21 years left me 9 years ago. And I'm feeling more alone and worthless every day. For a while I tried to meet people through online dating sites, but nobody was really interested. I lowered my standards and joined some increasingly skeevy dating sites. Still, nobody was interested. I've been on one date in the last 9 years and it didn't go well.
I have so much love to give someone, but I don't think I'm ever going to get the chance.
I'm unattractive and an emotional wreck. Who could ever love that?
I wish I didn't care, but the loneliness gets more overwhelming every year. I wish the pain would go away.
Been there. I'm sorry you are suffering.
After a long period of similar pain, I realized that the only way to change my thinking and feeling was to change what I was doing. So I started volunteering and realized that I am valuable and valued. I made some new friends, and I met, fell in live, and married the man of my dreams.
Don't give up. Conder a change of action. Your thoughts and feelings will follow along. 🍀
@niceMap3515 I am sorry you feel so alone. That can make me start to listen to the inner critic. What helps me is to set little goals for myself like take a shower, clean my room or wash the dishes. Then I feel better about myself.
