When was the last time you felt uncomfortable? Today, when the IT director talked to me.

What did it feel like and what helped you best to feel okay again? Getting away from him.

@amiablePeace77 That man will never improve. The only option for me is to retire. I am doing that next year.

That's something to look forward to (sorry though about all the stress you had with him).

Have you made your retirement plans already?

Sort of, @amiablePeace77. I have set up Medicare, checked my income, there is still a lot of stuff I need to do.

It's good that you start in time and don't leave it to the last minute, health care is very important, particularly when aging.

@amiablePeace77 Hello peace, thank you for the check-in ❤ How are you doing? As coping skills I usually use some distraction methods like walking or listening to music! Looking forward to hearing from everyone 😀

Hi there smiley. Those are good coping skills, I find music can be particularly helpful since it's a good tool to express our emotions too where we play the music or listen to it.

When was the last time you felt uncomfortable? Im going through a period of feeling uncomfortable right now. I think its related to a period of change thats been going on for a while. Most recently Ive felt overwhelmed with so much happening.

What did it feel like and what helped you best to feel okay again? I feel nervous and ‘off. I havent figured out the ‘fix yet. I know one thing I need to do is figure out how to get back to regularl meditation.

It sounds like to have many challenges atm, that must be hard. Hope you can pick up meditation on a regular basis again. What prevents you most starting to meditate?

@amiablePeace77 I guess Im having trouble because I used to have a fairly stable schedule. For the last two or three months it seems like the rhythm of work and home is off. And, my mind is racing - I cant seem to focus for more than a few seconds.

Sorry you're not feeling yourself, do you feel like you might suffer from a burnout and urgently need rest?

@MissPen

Hi Miss Pen.

I feel I can relate. I do not do well with even small changes. I am still reeling with the changes of not having children at home to take care of and what to do with myself. That was 13 years ago!

Meditation helps me a lot. There are so many different types of meditation practices on youtube. I use them much of the time. I do wish I had a more consistant and disiplined practice. I do belive that it can help so much.

It's no fun to work with someone who is rude and it does not contribute to a healthy working environment. Sorry to hear you have to put up with this person atm. I could imagine that this person has a lot of issues themselves but it's not right to make you suffer for it. Do you think it would help talking to them or trying to get different working hours?

@amiablePeace77 Hi,Yesterday I had some flashbacks. I felt a bit "yucky" and uncomfortable. I said the mantras that I always say until the yucky feelings passed. I also felt grateful to feel uncomfortable instead of horrible and horrified like I used to feel.

Sorry to hear about your flashbacks, Hugs, good that you could use your mantras to bring you back to the now.

I felt very uncomfortable this last weekend when visiting my in-laws. My mother in law has become too friendly

with me at particular times. Especially when she has had too many white wines.

What you say matters, whether it is something positive in your life or something negative. We are here for you.

Sometimes we know it all but still nothing helps and that's very frustrating. What do you think would have to change in your life so that you could feel better, is there something where coping does not help but actual change needs to happen?

I don't know, it is so bad that I simply don't know, I'm done and give up...simply nothing makes sense or works...I am trying to think in the present if I can...

Right now I think of lighthouses, les phares, savers for lost sailors...

Hi, this is the first thing Ive done on this site. I am excited to be part of a community. I love my family but they do not want to hear from me too often. We all have our things. I have been troubled by mental illness my entire life. In some ways I am just beginning to realize how it's affected me, my marriage, raising my daughters.

I have been diagnosed with various types of mental illness but most recent was BPD. I really only feel good when I am around the grandchildren. Now I am trying to do more during my days. I will be ancient before I get a handle on this. Today I laid around untill I finally talked myself into taking the dog and myself for a short walk. So that was my something today regarding being uncomfortable and what I did to change it. I feel so lost and empty when home alone. But never want to leave the house. No money for one reason.

Hi and congratulations to your first post smileyyes. It's great to have you here.

Sorry to hear that you have had such a hard time in your life and still have. I am glad that you joined, hope you will get the support here you are looking for. I find it's better to realize what made life so hard late than never realize it. You can still change things and your grandchildren surely want you to get better too.

I hope you can make it a daily routine going out for a walk with your dog, nature can be very healing too.

Last time I felt uncomfortable was when some asked me what I liked about myself. What did I do to feel okay? I told them I would have to think about that, and let them know another day.

Lauren, those questions can be tough to answer, particularly when we do not like ourselves a lot. I hope you had the chance to think about it and saw all the good qualities you have, like being an awesome caregiver, very supportive to others to mention just too.
