Today I have an exercise for you which I did last night and it made me feel really good, I almost felt like in my best times as a teen again , listened to the music and started to dance 
Here it goes:
MUSICAL STIMULI EXERCISE
Listen to your favorite song and pay attention to how it makes you feel. What emotions stir? What memories come up, and how do those memories make you feel? If they are good engage the emotions and see where they lead.

I started playing the violin when I was 5 yrs old. So my earliest memories where music is present has to do with Classical. Public Radio was always playing in the background at home and so I associate that music with feeling safe. Later I began playing in various orchestras. The tone of an A given by the oboe to the first chair violin always makes my skin tingle and my heart beats a little faster until the conductor raises their arm and everyone holds their breath in anticipation of the down beat when we begin to make magic.
It's one thing to discover new music and a completely different thing to BE the music.

I play flute and can relate. There is something magical about creating music.

Flute music is magic pure, it takes you on a journey of relaxation. I used to play flute a lot too when I was younger, still today it soothes me a lot. How does the flute make you feel when playing it?

The violin is such a beautiful instrument, the music impressive, sensitive yet strong. Violin music tells a story on it's own, emotional, uplifting in one moment, rebellious the other - just wonderful, a music to forget yourself in it, to live it.
I heard that playing an instrument also strengthens our brain actitivity.
@amiablePeace77 . I also play the piano (though it's been a long time), all 5 recorders, and 4 kummhorns which are Rennesaince instruments that sound like a sick goose in heat. But through all of that music, the most special is when playing with another person or group of people. It is the coming together in rythem and harmonies, some sweet and some that have a bit of discord, all to paint a picture for the listener and the player. Each performance is singularly different and seperate in the emotion that is invoced. It is art.

I did not know kummhorns so just listened to a video and actually found it quite nice (love your comment sick goose, haha ). So thanks for teaching me something new. I love the way you describe playing together - I could almost feel the melting of the sounds, the harmony - true art indeed.

Good idea. But my idea is of music is Lynard Skynard, Aerosmith, Foreigner, The Eagles, and Queen. Not a lot of music to dance to. Just great music to listen to. Thanks.

As concerns music as many other things, I am in my 40's but my range is broad both in time as in genres, I simply like anything that is good, nomatter the time or genre...

It is about the story of a shy girl who admired the rope skipper dancers in the square but she coukd not join them because she did not know how to do it. They invited her gladly but she shyed away knowing she could not do it. Then she started to train by herself on the beavh on the ocean and finally she could join them in joy.
It is about warm welcoming and acceptance, about being nice to people, about self determination and confidence and support, about human companionship and rejoicing in doing things together...about a french town on the coast...
Reminds me of the chinese grandmother who chose to dance rap or the sothern spoon lady...
It is about the spirit in you...
And yes, as one of my very good dear friends once said: "I woukd like to put my dancing hat on!"🤗🤗🤗😊

Thank you for sharing this beautiful story and the link, it was great to see her from the beginning to the end, how her willpower got her where she wanted to go. Abby the southers spoon lady, another strong and compassionate person, she definitively has a story to tell.
