50 plus Check-In 15th-18th January 2024
Greetings! community, we are back with an another Check-In
Three studies in peer reviewed journals found that positive thinking is good for the immune system, reduces anxiety, and increases positive emotions such as happiness. Positive thinking has been shown to be particularly beneficial when we are going ‘through the wire.’ When our lives feels completely out of control, this powerful habit can set into motion a chain of events over which we have complete and total control. For example, positive thinking triggers positive emotions such as joy, interest, contentment, pride, and love, better strategies to manage emotional well being.

Feel Free to Answer The Question Below-:
Q.What methods have you been using to maintain a positive mindset and emotional well-being in your daily life?
@AutisticYouth
As someone who is my worst enemy, I strive to do my best everyday. When I do something I feel I can not do I praise myself afterwards, write down what is was I did in my positive journal to remind myself I can do anything I put my mind to. I keep telling myself in whispers I can do anything I put my mind and soul to do
Yesterday I was discussing my presentation, but the referee kept interrupting me that I only had five minutes and did not make me finish my presentation, but he kept belittling the value of my research and efforts to the point that I felt... It is substandard research. Those around me kept telling me that this is what happens in all discussions, but those who discussed before me were respected for their work and made to feel that their research was valuable, while I felt that my work was bad and substandard.
@DinaElwy
I'm sorry to hear this happened to you. It must have been hard trying to focus on what you wanted to say whilst being constantly interrupted. I wonder whether the referee was under time pressure and wanted to finish as soon as possible 🤔. Nice that others around you told you that this is what happens in all discussions and I hope this helps to not take it personal (it does not make it okay though).
