Edited by DanaMh due to removing swear words. No notifications in 2 days. Guess you hate me that much.
Lauren, not sure what posting you are referring to since this one was posted 2 hours ago. I am sorry that I had a migraine going on most of the weekend and had backups helping with forum things due to my procedure at the hospital. However, we do care about you but it is not appreciated when members use swear words on the forums just because a forum posting isn't responded to.
@Lauren63 @Soulsings
@DanaMH guess what dont care anymore. Kept trying got nothing. I came here for help. You all have your groups. I am not acceptable. We are all adults. Swearing is normal. I hope you feel better.
@DanaMH. I was trying. No one gave a shit. Dot judge me.
@DanaMH And dont bring anyone else into this. Soulsings hates me . Why would you hashtag them?
Lauren,
Soulsings was backing me up today on the 50 plus forum things which I had asked them to is why I coped them. If what ever posting you are referring to is in 35+ I am sorry since I asked folks yesterday to cover for those forum postings for me also. I know you all like to be responded to. I have no idea what forum posting you are saying that we haven't responded to thou. I am sorry if I missed something accidently however without a clue on where it is or a help of a link to guide me to it is really hard for me to go figure out what posting I have not responded to.
@Lauren63 @Soulsings
@DanaMH. Reply to me only. If that is not possible do NOT reply.
@Lauren63i know this is public. I guess I wanted more respect. I was trying things that were suggested. The person I tried to befriend in real life blew me off. I wont try again. This was my last chance. Thank you to everyone for your support. Goodnight.
@Lauren63 I am sorry you do not feel accepted by the community. In my own case there are times where I felt that people were against me and really what it turned out to be is that I was putting up a wall to keep people out.
Swearing to me indicates there is anger present. If you want to cope with anger a listener or myself would be glad to get a pm from you. I cannot change how you feel but I can listen.
Thanks for abiding by the community guidelines and using words that are not swear words.
Thanks for helping keep this community a save place.
@soulsings thank you . Your answer explains everything. BTW safe, not save. Nobody here saves anybody.
@DanaMH Hello, I am doing well today. The thing I really want to do is read! I have been saying for awhile now that I am going to make time to read, but can't seem to fit it in yet....working on it.
Glad to hear that you are doing well today. Reading is a great coping skill also. Maybe you can add some time on your calendar or wake up early or head to bed early and read in bed before you go to bed. Maybe even at lunch time if you are still working while you eat.
@Ladyofthesea458
@Ladyofthesea458 I am not a big volume reader but I read a few pages before I go to sleep and it helps relax me. Usually read inspiring books.
- How are you doing?
Not doing that well right now. Loneliness, anxiety and depression are up. New insurance, so I have to contact yet another mental healthcare practitioner and start that process all over again. I'm just exhausted.
- What is the thing that appeals to you more than any other thing even if you cannot do it now?
I love going for walks in the forest, which I struggle to do these days because of injuries and pain. I do get to view the forest through my living room and bedroom windows though, and that's nice too.
Welcome to 7cups and glad that you found the Sub-Community we also have a lot of great stuff in the 35+ Sub-Community you might want to also check out. Not sure if you found the self-help guides which there are some that might be able to help (click here). Insurance and finding new doctors are always a challenge agree with that and a lot of folks on 7cups would also. The 35+ Chat room is open 24 hour if you ever would like to chat with folks in there and the 50 plus is only open during open chat and discussion times currently.
Sorry you currently can't walk and have pain. Glad you can view it thou through your window. Here is a link that might help with ideas for more coping skills also.
@Amaruq
@DanaMH
Thank you! I'll definitely have a look at the coping skills links you suggested, and I'll explore the 35+ community. Yesterday I was extremely anxious and joined the Anxiety support chat, and it helped a great deal, so I look forward to the 35+ community chat as well.
@Amaruq Sorry to hear you are not doing well right now....I've been there, and it's difficult to get out of that mode sometimes. Getting a new doctor and therapist can be challenging, especially when you get use to one person and then you have to start over, but maybe think about the importance of reconnecting with someone again. Yeah it's a drag to start over but you'll build that bond again and get the help you need. What type of things can you do now to help ease those feelings of depression and anxiety?
@Ladyofthesea458
Thank you for your kind response. I've not been seeing a counselor for a few years now, so I'm not leaving someone I had and liked. The problem is mostly that I've had some truly awful experiences with several mental healthcare practitioners, one of which was so egregious that it ruined a large part of my life. But in spite of efforts on my part I find I cannot heal myself, mentally. Or I'm missing something critical to the process.
Some of the things I do to relieve depression and anxiety include spending time with my dog, exercising (can't do much, but something is better than nothing), eating healthy food and doing some meditation. I play computer games of different varieties, all of which are designed to reduce stress. The latest thing I have discovered is the 7 Cups site, which now I use in an effort to learn more about how to help myself and to meet people. Loneliness is pretty severe these days, so the chat rooms help a bit. They also help to relieve some anxiety, to my surprise. I guess just knowing other people are out there is helpful.
@Amaruq Spending time with my dogs helps me too, it's very relaxing and makes me instantly happy! I am happy to hear you have found others here at 7 cups that you can relate to and that offer support. For me, it was a game changer when I found out other people struggled just like me, it opens up other doors to the recovery process. Something about seeing others do well in their recovery, gives me hope in my own recovery all the time. These days I am doing well, but it's an everyday battle with depression. It does get better though, have faith in that!
I am feeling irritable today. I am supposed to have a therapist. I saw her once. The 2nd appointment was canceled due to weather. The 3rd was canceled today, but I did not get the message so I used up precious efforts to get there on time for nothing. Now I am home, and going to make myself take the dog for a walk instead of going back to sleep. Well, I am stuck at a sliding scale clinic and I wasn't impressed when I used them several years ago. But there are many variations for counseling and I have met some very helpful, others horrendous! Sorry my sentences awful today.
Whatever that other question was, I will answer later or tomorrow or something.
Sorry to hear that you are feeling irritable today and hope your day turns out to be a better one for you. Sounds like you don't have a reliable therapist that wants to be there for their patients. Is there someone else you can see instead? Taking your dog for a walk and going to sleep are great coping skills to turn to in situations like this. Not sure if Open Source Counseling is in your area but I use this since my therapist is not in network and it is cheap and I agree finding awesome therapist are really hard. I have been seeing my awesome therapist for over 1.5 years and with my old insurance he took. Here are some other Coping skills ideas to check into also.
@Chickadee123
@DanaMH
thank you! I was going to try a month of help here at 7cups. I canceled that because my general dr said they had counseling available there on sliding scale. In the meantime, thyroid meds were increased so who knows. Perhaps this is the Good Lord's major depression economy plan!?!?!?
If I could do anything.....I would win the lottery. I would like to go skydiving again, and /or experience the weightlessness of space. Then come back to Earth, and travel all over it, possibly to never come back home!
Those sound like some fun things to do. Can you go skydiving again?
@Chickadee123
@DanaMH
I wonder today how are you doing Dana? Sounds like you have had challenges lately. A migraine, and a hospital procedure. Yippee. ( sarcastically) can't see to pick out a proper emoticon, or fix my typos. )
certain that I am too heavy to skydive this coming season. apparently age is not a factor since george h w bush went for his 80th birthday. It is fun to think about.
