How's it going?
Everyone getting excited about the proposed 50+ subcommunity? I think there are a lot of possibilites that can be explored with such an idea. More importantly, how does it make you feel?
Further, anything interesting going on in your neck of the woods?
Not much here, teaching extra classes to cover all the ones I'll miss when on holiday.

This weekend I am going to finish my "Buddha" painting (with the help of Mandala, hehe). Painting is something I always wanted to do because it makes it so easy to express emotions but when younger never had the time, now I take the time for it.
How are you doing and how is it in your woods

@DaveMcGrath Hi Dave, I'm totally new to online chatting and was excited to see a 50's + community! It's good to know there are others out there in the 50+ bracket that want to chat!! I'm 59, live in the UK and get lonely at night when the insomnia bites!

Welcome to online chatting and the group. Yes, insomnia is terrible which I can totally relate to. Not sure if you have tried CBT-I with a sleep therapist. I just started my first session today and he thinks it might help so it might be something to look into.

I do these energy balancing exercises based on Donna Edens practice and it helps me fall asleep. Maybe something in here will be useful for you too. :-)

One really cool thing I can notice and feel, reading all the posts here, is the amount of life experience and wisdom we all share, yet we have had very different paths which led us where we are now.
I also feel there is plenty of intelligence and awareness here, to look at our future serenely and help each other with the remaining tricky spots here and there, plus the new challenges that come with what society refers to as "age", and how we can make them interesting and less daunting, maybe fun even, beyond having to replace our reading glasses a bit more often...
This going to be a really good community to be part of!
