Hello lovely 50+ community. How are you today? laugh

I hope you all had a good week and wish you a great weekend.

I guess you all know the feeling, you wanted to exercise but you do not feel like it at all. Not now, not tomorrow, another time. Time goes by and nothing happens.

Our minds might even forget it completely after a while.

If ideas/goals are created only in the head they might be forgotten, however, if we make them physical like writing it down on a board which is hang up at a place we frequently pass during the day (kittchen, office…) we get reminded all the time and encourages us to do what we have planned.

enlightened What is one thing you always wanted to do but never did and would you consider to put it into action?

Oh my, I can't think of anything that I have always wanted to do but never did. The best I can come up with is what I have wanted to do for the last 8 or 9 years; get married again. Would I consider putting this into action? Yes indeed, but there are so many issues to deal with that I really can't.

@Offmytrack

Sounds like you have achieve all your goals already with the exception of getting married. Finding the right partner is definitively not the easiest task but I hope that you will one day.

@amiablePeace77, I found the right partner, but she doesn't want to get married.

@Offmytrack

For some people the bond of official marriage is important for some people not, to them a marriage or partnership is a bond, with our without papers. I can see that you might have wanted to get this dream fulfilled and I truly would have wished you that but the most important thing is you have the right partner.

I have done a lot of things I wanted to do. That did not always turn out the way I hoped but I did a lot of experimenting after work and on weekends with art, music and cooking. At this point in life there is the strong desire to want to live a life worth living so when I look back as I am leaving this world I can say to myself "Well Done!"

@soulsings

thanks for sharing these thoughts Soul. I find too, the most important thing is when we are leaving to be able to say we actually have lived and with contentment, even if not all the time but at least the last part.

The first thing that came to mind was traveling across the country. At one point it was by foot, then motorcycle, but now I would want more comfortable surroundings. Maybe like a camper. But I still work, so its impossible right now. Maybe after I retire.

@Lauren63

To me cross-country is awesome but I too would rather go for the more comfortable way today as I am older. Camping sounds great, maybe also making new friends on the camping site. Hope it will happen for you.

@Lauren63 you could try renting a camper for a werkend trip. Some state parks have cute rustic cabins too.

Did not know about the Escape Room, so I just googled. Sounds indeed like a lot of fun. Great you did what you always wanted. It always makes me proud when I accomplish what I wanted to do for a long time, how about you?

I prefer the first Q how r u today. Ok. Still alive. Lots of things I would like to experience with my time left on Earth but lack of funds and people in my life limit possibilities. Just getting through one day is enough to think about. The weather kinda messed up my week. New therapist canceled on me Wednesday when iit was super cold. Monday, kitty was neutered. He has been crated this week per vet instructions. This has been more mess than usual around here. Oh, and he is not very happy about it either. 7-10 days they said but no idea how to know if 7 will be enough? I cry from this depression that I have. Walked the dog. Did not enjoy it. Still sleeping too much but doctor is trying to help.

@Chickadee123

You had truly some very rough days,I hope things are getting better for you now. I agree, when things are that challenging, best is to focus on one step only and then the next one. Sometimes even crying can be very helpful to let emotions out. What is something you used to do in the past that brought you fun or relaxation?

Hope Kitty is recovering fast.

Ps I was browsing the depression forums last night and saw one from a suicidal person. There had been no responders. What should I have done? I want to be a responsible member of the community.

You are a very responsible member, you just showed it. Reading that post must have been upsetting for you.
