The hardest time in my life when I had to be brave was when I had a spinal operation, and I had to relearn how to walk. I felt isolated, alone, in constant pain, embarrassed, running was my life and I couldn't do it anymore, I had to dig deep 💛
That took so much courage. Thank you for sharing your journey. Wishing you continued strength and healing. 💛

Giving a relationship a chance, even though there a red flags which I chose to ignore, I was brave in knowing that i have self-love and the right to love them for their flaws even if they don't know what they are doing to me. Being brave in knowing that there does not have to be e definitive goal in relationships - sometimes the journey is enough to love and learn from them.👍

No relationship is perfect, and it takes true love to love someone with all their flaws. Not all red flags require action but it's important to know which ones.

About four or five years ago, I read the story of my abuse out loud to a group of six women, including my therapist. I was very nervous, but I wanted to tell my story and I wanted to be heard. It was important for me to tell it. My therapist wanted these women to hear from a man who had been abused, because two of them were new to their jobs, and two of them had worked only with women who had been abused. Only my therapist and one other women had worked with men. It went well, and I felt so much better afterwards. I wanted to share my story with more people after that, especially mental health professionals, but have not had the opportunity to do so.
