Good Morning

I just started Therapy: I had chest pains a few months ago late one night; I told myself if I wake up in the morning I will go to the Doctors office. I woke up, still alive and I went to the doctor. The Doctors office put me in a wheel chair and carted me off to the Emegency Room. While waiting in the ER I stood up and walked out of the ER. They called me, but I refused to go back. Instead I looked to see if my Insurance paid for Mental Health supports... It does cover Mental Health. I am here because for years October 10th has been my add it all up date once a year to Continue on or to Expire... I have always continued on... I told my Therapist about October 10th and she had me sign up for 7cups on October 8th. I found the 50+ section and just decided to post this.... I will not investagate any heart issues, but I like going to Thearpy.... Therapy is more affordable than dieing and paying ER bills, Now that I typed this I am fated to live to 110 years Continued.

I am very glad to meet all of you. My goals have nothing to do with a long life, but a possibilty of a short life has my imagiantion chirping.

@PeterJC

Hello Peter, glad you joined! Welcome!

So you choose to not check better your health but to just go for therapy. I would say that everyone makes checks from time to time, also kids are checked, so i would try to see it from a different perspective than the long-life idea of it: can we see it like just care for our body?

In case you'd be interested in our room discussions as well, if you feel like to join us please check about discussions HERE

Hope you'd enjoy your journey with us here in 7 cups of tea! smiley

The doom and gloom has really set up camp in my head this morning... I think it wise that I just read 7 cups materials, keep my comments to myself.... I have a suspicious nature that sabotages trying out the listener features of this program, but the bot is interesting....

Good Evening!

I have decided how I will use 7 cups... I will use it as a talking point for when I go to see my therapist. I am a ramble communicator for my one hour sessions with her. I like chatting with the BOT. And group discussion when Im on my PC. I have several bad weeks ahead of me, possibly months. Just some EGO based misery of a self absorbed man child : me... but these occasions do stress me out. Im working with an idea that a real world happening has little to do with the emotions I attach to the happening. See Ramble...

My sleep pattern this week 1 night of no sleep; 1 night of sleep; and one night of no sleep. I lay very still with my eyes closed thinking some part of my body will get some rest.... my brain is slipping into stupidity with sparatic rest... my matra is: dont trust your thoughts, dont trust your emotions.... you do not react to any stimuli immediately....absorb what is said to you before you speak... be kind.... my next few months will be brutal

Ha, I texted/typed out a huge two to three page post here.... I paused, the phone screen went into sleep mode, and when I restarted all that I typed was gone.... how Fun! Let me tell the short version...

I slept well, I have tomorrow off, I go to Therapy, I have good insurance, I decided to visit a lawyer about bankruptcy pros and cons.

there! No need for A three page discussion

Today was Therapy day, my Therapist I encouraged to read or watch The Dream staring Jeffrey Irons. She just watched part of it. But ask about what the little girl represented.... I had never really given it any thought? Silas Marner had a young girl, and los miserables also had a young girl... what is the metaphor? The potential for growth? The potential for rebirth? Or its just a little girl in a story told? It had to be some character? I forgot Ethan Frome the young girl first represented precieved rediscovery of love and dreams, then a nightmare of guilt and delusions becoming truths, as the bubble bursts.

The awaited bad news is upon me, I guess... it has always worked out in the past, A blood vessel burst in my left eye... I have a bloody Oculus Sinister! Just in time for Halloween! It freaked me out at first. And since I am a google genius, I googled it.

Repost to save for session:

our entire world happens inside our brains... I can turn off my outside view, but it makes everyone upset... they say where did you go? You had Vacated look in your eyes... I never thought to tell him them I went indoors.... that would have been clever. I spontaneously laugh, or spontaneously say Im sorry, just out of the blue.... apologizing for a long lost wrong done or a stupid statement made. I went time traveling, it felt like I just got back and I did just get back from indoors, in my head, and the instant from a time long gone felt so very real...

@PeterJC, I had a blood vessel tear open in my left eye. I had two retinal detachments in that eye, surgically repaired. I went to a doctor in the hospital we had just driven past, he said it was not a detachment, just a blood vessel bursting. Nevertheless, when I got back home, I went straight in to see my optometrist, who confirmed that it was another detachment. Got it fixed right away. Took a couple of years for the blood to settle down in the eye, but it eventually did. Until, of course, I had to have cataract surgery and it stirred it all up again. That was three years ago, and I am still dealing with so many floaters I feel as though I were swimming in a kelp forest.

@Offmytrack

with detached retina they pump your eye full of an oil that causes the cataracts, then when it heals they do cataract surgery.... I think that is the process.

Hi @PeterJC. No, the procedure was to use a laser to fix the broken blood vessel, and then laser-weld the retina back on. My cataracts came on about the normal time for them, I was 59 years old at the time.

@Offmytrack

being a listener is where the magic happens. Tell your suffering to others, then listen to their suffering. It put a perspective on everything to ponder on?

@PeterJC, you are very correct in this. I have always made it a priority to listen to other people, and I have always told people the struggles I have been through. I hope it broadens their perspective.

Today is a day of unattached longing, the feeling that starts in my solar plexus and radiates out to my toes, fingers and the top of my head...It is just a feeling of longing, an acute awareness of The extremities, like a buzz... so what am I longing for? Chocolate Cake? Whiskey? Companionship? Art production? Positive actions? Negative actions? I

Hi there. I have sleep problems but Im discovering that going to bed the same time each night helps a lot, as does waking up the same time. Learned that from my Fitbit.

As for using the chat feature here I was also very skeptical. However active listening is much different than chatting with a friend who may judge or try to outdo you on whose life has more issues. Ive used the chat 2x and both times allowed me to speak freely while the listener just acknowledged what I said. There is something very healthy about this style of listening and I hope to become a listener here too one day.

Hope you are finding some kind moments today.

Thank you! Work keeps everything in balance during the day... in the evening without the distraction of work can cause issues in poor choices in actions.
